@Chopsticksmagee @vrsion1_ You fucking discovered that 25 dollars don't mean the same in south america than in Europe Especially when i'm on the poorest SIDE (Besides, I'm not a measure of anything, I'm quite below average )

The demand to see #TheOdyssey in 70mm Imax is so high that Christopher Nolan fans are taking cross-country trips, buying tickets in bulk and more to see the film. One fan even delayed her pregnancy, telling Variety: "We have to wait a few months. Otherwise, it's going to be too close to ‘The Odyssey.’” Simon James, a 33-year-old attorney in New York City, bought 18 tickets to Imax 70mm screenings over the film's first three weeks of release, explaining: "Chris Nolan is my favorite director, and I am a big appreciator of his films," Simon says. "I really believe him when he says that the best way to see a Chris Nolan film is in an Imax theater. The experience of his films is exponentially elevated by viewing it in the right conditions." wp.me/pc8uak-1lHwEG

@vrsion1_ I mean, yeah, it's kinda expensive, no game should cost above 20 usd, even less not multimillionaire games as AAA

@Whilfrith @kendrictonn Noooo because then you open up yet another """subvert expectations""" twist where it turns out the elves had a good reason not to and it's just another tragic backstory to solve like literally every other companion. Sick of writers always trying to be 'clever' about everything.

@KC__STL @SkurtSweden @illinar @JosephFox_088 That’s the point. It’s designed to be grueling on purpose so when you get to inner dc it feels relieving. When you find hidden areas it’s exciting more than if you would just see them in the distance and walk their

@NurgleVT @illinar @JosephFox_088 Fallout 3 has actually combat and difficulty as well. In the metros with next to no ammo it’s like a real survival scenario unlike new Vegas where theirs no combat basically at all

@illinar @JosephFox_088 Agreed. Fallout 3 is my favorite of the series. Then new Vegas. Then fallout 4. Never played 76. But 3 just had an immersive experience to it. It felt like my decisions mattered. And it also felt massive, you could spend weeks searching and not find everything

The Odyssey in IMAX 70MM is basically sold out for the next six week straight in NYC. This movie is going to make billions. It’s also very annoying because now I have to sit in the front row if I want a ticket

@Chopsticksmagee @agent_max72 @golden_saurus @Caraunio_Luna Its not rare at all, it isnt being pushed directly by the government because power isnt held by the government alone, there are also the institutions like academia, and entertainment itself has become a institution with power, sponsoring almost exclusively pieces of propaganda.

@agent_max72 @golden_saurus @Caraunio_Luna Pieces of entertainment actually being sponsored and directed by governments is so rare, it's barely brought up. It's not the 40s or 60s anymore. Every time I see someone share your rhetoric, it's only because they compare it to entertainment in the past just for contrarianism

@MINHQUA28594173 @golden_saurus @Caraunio_Luna It's not medieval times, back then entertainment was just court jesters and a few people on stage. If you still compare it to that, your view is just outdated. Entertainment has gone beyond that now, again it's employment for thousands and respite for billions

@Chopsticksmagee @golden_saurus @Caraunio_Luna I mean yes it does provide jobs and can inspire people, make them happy but society can't hold it up to the same standard and respect as other jobs or you risk it becoming a decadence mess of jesters entertaining peasants. It should be seen as a good job but not an admirable one.

@MINHQUA28594173 @golden_saurus @Caraunio_Luna It provides jobs for thousands of people, many of which actually enjoy doing it. To think that entertainment as a whole is worthless is just wrong. Don't lie, you can't tell me you haven't been inspired or influenced by an element of some film/show you've watched.

@Chopsticksmagee @golden_saurus @Caraunio_Luna Because entertainment sadly no matter how entertaining doesn't produce that much actual material value, you can live without actors but not without the guy that build the house you live in, refill the gas station and restocks the grocery store.

Nolan sees The Odyssey the same as a Shakespeare film adaptation. Race/sex can be irrelevant. It’s why Denzel can play Macbeth or Don Pedro in Much Ado. Or Harold Perrineau can play Mercutio in Romeo & Juliet. Or Helen Mirren can play Prospero(a). It simply doesn’t matter.
