I had high hopes for the iPhone Ultra, thinking it’s the perfect foldable ratio, but apparently not… 💔 When unfolded, (which will basically be the only way to get a normal screen for consuming content), it won’t be any better than the Pro Max in Landscape. (it will be better, but not to the level of “WOW it’s a game changer!!!”) Sure, it might be good for gaming cause its taller, but are you really going to use a $2000 iPhone Ultra with a Plastic or “Ultra thin glass” screen which scratches from your fingernails to play games? I doubt it. 🥀🥀🥀 Pro Max will be much better for that anyway, mainly due to better thermals and probably battery life. Then the outside screen. Although cute, is too wide for a comfortable use in one hand, AND too short for anything else. Some people might say “oh but it has the same logic as the iPad Mini, but that one is fine, so the iPhone Ultra is too” But the thing is, the iPad mini is 3x cheaper. So the expectations are obviously not as high, AND it has a proper glass screen, AND Apple Pencil support. At this point, Samsung’s and everybody else’s “normal 21:9 when folded and a square when unfolded” ratios are lowkey the best. cause when closed you just have a normal phone like the Pro Max, and when you need to multitask, you get a 2x wider inner screen for a comfortable 2-app operation. With Apple’s way you get only get compromises in both situations IMO. If it were even wider and shorter when unfolded, I’d take my words back.

iPhone Ultra open display vs 17 Pro Max Basically the same display width, but 56.9% taller display when comparing this view. 71mm vs 111.5mm 16:9 video will be a bit more immersive. Gaming will be AWESOME!
