Canada is ready to lead this effort. The Defence, Security and Resilience Bank will provide low-cost financing for critical defence projects in participating countries. By pooling credit strength, we’ll build our military capacity and create good jobs across our defence sectors.

This is what happens when you are forced to deal with a global bully. I said when Mark Carney got elected that Canadian voters did the world a massive favour, so thanks for that Canada. What Trump has failed to take account of is that Mark Carney is MUCH smarter than him when it comes to global economics. While Trump is embarking on his illegal war tour, quietly in the background, Carney is taking the lead on shepherding a new global coalition to counter U.S. hegemony. It’s worth reading the Politico piece I have linked below if you want more detail. politico.eu/article/eu-and… The aim here is an ambitious but totally attainable goal to build a bridge between the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the EU. The ambition is to link the likes of Canada, Singapore, Mexico, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia and Australia with Europe. It would create a coalition of 40 nations. To be clear, this is in the early stages of development, but there is no question it represents an exciting opportunity to escape the bullying and develop a brand new frictionless trading bloc that would be second to none. It goes to my point, of the fact that nobody is prepared to sit around while Trump oscillates from one calamitous mistake to another. Other nations are just quietly working behind the scenes to exclude the U.S. which should be fine for Trump because the U.S. needs nobody, right? We are slowly seeing a major shift to European arms manufacturers as work goes on to reduce U.S. dependency. The world really has no choice but to now protect itself from America. Not something I ever imagined having to say in my lifetime. Thanks to Practical Energy Insights for the clip. 🎥 TikTok - vm.tiktok.com/ZNRxsQnY6/

🎥WHO PLACED THE BET? Someone just made a killing with an extraordinarily well-timed bet on financial markets, minutes before Donald Trump's announcement of war talks yesterday. Was it luck, or inside information? Either way... someone just got rich. Four min primer👇

BREAKING: Former US CIA Director John Brennan implies that Trump is lying about the Iranian talks and says he tends to believe Iran over Trump. Brennan: "I tend to believe IRAN more than Donald Trump, Because he could not acknowledge the truth even when he’s slapped in the face with it repeatedly." Man, are we screwed...

NATO members know that Donald Trump would not value their contribution if they became involved in the Strait of Hormuz, Anne Applebaum argues: “What you’re hearing from America’s European allies is not cowardice. It’s a calculation.” Read the full article here: theatln.tc/mTyGg0LI

This is incredible. This machine is capable of cleaning up 100 million kg of plastic ocean waste, and as of 2025, it has already collected about 500,000 kg of plastic. It aims to remove 90% of ocean plastic by 2040.

“Growth is lower, not just for one quarter. It stays lower throughout all of 2026 and all of 2027.” ⁣ ⁣ In English: this isn’t a blip. It’s a persistent hit to jobs, incomes, and the economy’s trajectory.

@anders_aslund @ylecun I lost hope for America when Trump was reelected, imbued with presidential immunity from the Supreme Court. Since then he’s done whatever he wants, without repercussions.

Unless the GOP impeaches Trump asap for: 1. The greatest corruption ever in the Western world. 2. His disastrous war on Iran. 3. Suspect rape & pedophilia, I would be surprised if the GOP can survive as a political party.

How stupid is it that we’re fighting even more wars over oil when we could have spent the same amount of money and transitioned the entire goddamn planet to renewables?
