When I suggest that the primary purpose of school is to educate, Iโ€™m often told that they canโ€™t because so many kids donโ€™t come to school prepared to learn. That statement is generally followed by the litany of societal problems that schools think they need to solve. Look, our society has always had problems (and always will). Itโ€™s not the job of schools to fix all of societyโ€™s problems and by trying to do so theyโ€™re actually contributing to them by neglecting their main purpose. When schools lose their focus and try to act as mental health and social service providers, they often deprive students of the quality education that enables them to thrive and flourish as knowledgeable contributing members of society later in life.

Mahalo to my Hawaiian friends at the Department of Education. I will forever be grateful for the countless opportunities given to me to present to school leaders and teachers who aspire to one day be school leaders. Your trust in me means the world to me and I will never take it for granted. Beautiful state, beautiful weather, beautiful people. Even more excited about my return trips scheduled for 2026-27 school year. See you in September! #TheDripEffect #Culturize #Recalibrate

In a world where new AI models are shipped every three to four months and new learning materials are developed just as fast, we are going to see a great disparity between educational institutions who have to wait a year to implement changes due to curriculum reviews, board approvals, adoption cycles, and PD rollouts and those that can implement changes within 30 days.

Reading a hundred books won't change your life. Applying just one idea from a single book will do more for you than finishing a hundred you never act on. Stop collecting information and start extracting the one thing you can use today.

One of the toughest lessons I had to learn growing up is that... The character doesn't always match the profession. - There are teachers who hate kids - Doctors who have the empathy of rocks - Human Resources people who couldn't human if they tried - Judges who are criminals๏ฟผ -Parents who are child abusers.
