The NBA is such a small fraternity. It always hurts when we lose a member. This week we lost two, Brandon Clarke and Jason Collins. I didn't know Clarke, but only hear great things. No one should pass on so young. Collins was a member of my high school recruiting class. Due to that, we overlapped at quite a few events and games. An elite player, and an even better person. A true gentle and thoughtful giant. He never changed, only evolved and grew. Both are reminders of our own mortality. Both will be missed dearly.

I saw Lew Alcindor win a championship his second year with The Big O. That’s Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Oscar Robertson fyi. I swear i heard announcers say the same things. I saw 7-4 Ralph Sampson lead the break in AllStar Games i wonder why these broadcasters sound like Wemby is doing the unseen. Luv his game but in the past coaches put similar built centers in the post because injuries were imminent on that body frame from below with teams trying to take them out. The trey plays on O and D makes Wemby different with his handle and shot. Coaches were protective not wanting that big man doing small things in the past for a reason..

Never have I ever seen so many people up in arms about a minute disparity in NBA discussions. Let me put it like this: if you're a viewer, would you rather see a guy play 40 minutes in one night and take the next night off or 30 minutes in both games? The point of the rule is to have the players play the games—not rack up minutes to count as game credits. Now, I don't love the rule, but this particular minutes argument doesn't really make sense in relation to why it was implemented in the first place.

Go back to East vs West. Go back to the old lottery odds. Enforce strict punishment for bad officiating. Bring back hand checking and stop this overreaction to the three point fouls. Remove all back to backs and 3 games in 4 days by shortening the season to 72 games. This isn’t that hard

I will continue to say it: The NBA thinking on tanking is completely wrong. As long as you allocate talent by draft, you will never stop tanking. The goal should be for fewer teams to tank for the shortest amount of time possible. The answer to that is obvious: Get rid of the lottery and draft by reverse order. The worst teams get the best players, improve and move out of tank phase. The NBA’s wonky lottery odds has made the problem worse because you get a handful of unlucky franchises stuck in the 5-10 draft range and struggle to improve.
