@lukejcr Bit obsessed aren't you? Keep up this trawling through ancient social media posts looking for dirt and you'll have parliament full of Teresa Mays whose naughtiest act was running through a field of wheat as a child!

“Locker-room banter” is a pathetic excuse for blatant misogyny from a grown man. Reform could have called out the overt sexism and condemned it. Instead, they framed it as an “establishment hit job”. Tells you everything you need to know about them. 🦖
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK

Update: A Reform UK spokesman says Kenyon's comments about women driving were "locker room banter made more than a decade ago" "We simply don't care about establishment hit jobs. We fully back Rob and are confident he will be an excellent MP for Makerfield"

The Times have just released a new poll for the Makerfield by-election by Survation. Robert Kenyon is the only candidate who can stop Andy Burnham. This is a two horse race - nobody else comes close.

Labour has announced that the 5p cut on fuel duty will be extended for the rest of the year. I know a lot of my constituents are feeling cost-of-living pressures, so I’m pleased this government is keeping pump prices down in response.

Football should bring people together, not shut them out. For the first time since the competition began, fans won’t be able to watch the Champions League final for free. That’s not right. This is bigger than wanting to watch Arsenal in this historic final. It’s bigger than one club. Hardworking people shouldn’t have to fork out for a subscription to watch this match. I urge TNT Sports to reconsider and make the final next Saturday free to watch.

Though smaller than last year, the Unite the Kingdom march over the weekend was still sickening. The resurgence of out-and-out racism in the UK, from demands for remigration of British Asians to Antisemitic slurs on placards at both demonstrations, demands we meet this moment.

With Reform UK, it's always about 'looking after our own' until it comes to feeding children. Labour is providing over 6,400 children across Kent County Council with free breakfast clubs. Reform UK literally want to take the food from their mouths. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

OK — you tell me — how do you nationalise energy, water and ‘housing’ (whatever that means) without borrowing tens of billions more to do so?
The Red Resistance (Keith Davies)@resistance_red

@afneil Are you happy with ANYONE trying to do something different Andrew. He has been a big success in Manchester. Maybe he knows something. You've derided any new ideas as the status quo fails catastrophically. Do you want the far right spivs with their huge medical bills policies?

@BethRigby Why on earth would the EU welcome us into their 'heart' given our level of inflation linked debt and Reform waiting in the wings to undo it? Ah! Hold on. We'd pay them loads of money for the privilege.....

Starmer piles into Farage over Brexit: says Farage “is not just a grifter but chancer” Says UK will work to be closer to Europe. But with red lines remaining from manifesto - Labour doesn’t want to return to freedom of movement - not clear really how transformational this is

We have delivered good, Labour things – action on child poverty, strengthening workers’ rights, protections for renters. But we can’t and we shouldn’t pretend the status quo is working. To stop Reform, we have to be bolder and we have to deliver change faster.

The PM @Keir_Starmer has been clear. These were really tough results for Labour and more needs to change. He’s taken responsibility for that. He’s not once ducked such responsibilities. But we won’t deliver for our communities or serve the national interest by turning in on ourselves. We must dust ourselves off, come together and get back to delivering for the people who elected us with a landslide just two years ago. The PM is right not to walk away or talking timetables. At a moment like this, the country needs focus, stability and delivery, not chaos.

The PM has been clear that we have heard people’s frustrations with the pace of change and that more needs to be done. But we won’t deliver that change by turning in on ourselves. The PM has a five-year mandate and he rightly won't walk away from it.
