I fear that I’m one of the people Pauline wants to deport because I, too, would not wear a bikini on a beach. And even though Pauline asserts that’s it’s Australian culture, I feel I am contributing to the country by not parading in a bikini.

Our lives here in Gaza have become a daily struggle between life, fear, and death. My daughter, Rafif, woke up trembling with a high fever. Fear filled her eyes, and the only word she could whisper was, “Wow…” I held her tightly in my arms, doing everything I could to make her feel safe. But how can a father protect his little girl when everything around them is shaking? Here, the bombardment never stops. The fear never leaves. We never know if we’ll survive the next moment. Then, suddenly… everything changed. Massive explosions. Walls shaking. Buildings trembling. Our hearts felt as though they would burst from fear. Is this justice? Does a little girl deserve to grow up surrounded by terror instead of love? At any moment, you may hear that Rafif’s entire family is gone. The days will pass. Life will move on. And perhaps we too will be forgotten, just as so many others have been forgotten. But Rafif was here. She was a little girl who dreamed of growing up, laughing more, and living a normal life like every other child in this world. If you remember anything, remember Rafif. Please don’t let her story be forgotten.

For 23 years, Jane Sayner called the same house in St Albans, Melbourne, home. She wasn't the owner. She was the tenant. Month after month, year after year, she paid her rent on time and treated the property as if it were her own. The owners lived overseas, so Jane became the person they trusted completely. She looked after the house, handled many small repairs herself instead of bothering the landlords, and quietly cared for the property for more than two decades. Over the years, the relationship grew beyond that of landlord and tenant. It became a genuine friendship built on trust and respect. When the owners eventually decided they no longer wanted to keep the house, they made an extraordinary decision. Rather than putting it on the market, they transferred ownership directly to Jane. There was no legal obligation and no agreement promising her the property after a certain number of years. It was simply a remarkable gesture from owners who believed the person who had faithfully cared for their home for 23 years deserved to have it become her own

On this day in 2003, David Kelly, the man who tried to warn the world about the lies of the British government’s claims that Iraq possessed WMDs to justify the illegal invasion, was found dead. He was one of Britain's most respected weapons experts and raised concerns that the government's case for war had been exaggerated. The BBC reported that the infamous claim Iraq could deploy weapons of mass destruction within 45 minutes had been "sexed up" to strengthen the case for invasion. Dr. Kelly was identified as the source. Just days later, on the 18th of July 2003, he was found dead near his home, the official story was that he had committed suicide. Many do not believe that narrative. No stockpiles of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction were ever found. David Kelly was proven right, as Iraq was smouldering in ruin. 1 million people were killed as a result of George W. Bush’s and Tony Blair’s lies. The entire region was destabilised, and ISIS and Al Qaeda rose as a result.

Imagine creating a long lasting machine that is beautiful, cheap to produce, cleans the air, reduces flooding, gives nutrients to the soil, reduces surrounding temperatures, captures and stores carbon, produces oxygen, grows food and provides natural habitats for wildlife. 🌳
