What’s one of the top selling vehicles in this country? Hey Siri, how much does it cost to fill the tank of a Ford F150?

A truly incredible and historic day in Toledo. Vincent Mauri — a 25-year-old former college runner from Warren, Ohio — does not have a coach or a sponsor or even a long-distance pedigree. He had never run a half marathon, let alone a full one. On a Sunday for the ages at the Glass City Marathon, he ran one of the greatest races in American history. Mauri did not just break the GCM record by ... more than 13 minutes, or obliterate the Ohio marathon record, too. He became the fourth American ever to break 2:06. "Honestly, I don't even know what to think yet." toledoblade.com/sports/amateur…

Did you know that Amy Acton and David Pepper's campaign lawyers—Elias Law Group—are the folks behind the Virginia referendum? The effort may produce a congressional map in the Old Dominion State that favors Democrats 10-1 over Republicans, despite 46% of Virginians voting for Trump in 2024. Wasn't David Pepper one of the Dems crowing about "gerrymandering" when Ohio created its congressional maps? Yes. Yes he was. He once wrote - according to an Ai deep search - (in tweets that have been erased): “The Ohio House not only wants to gerrymander the state…they get mad if people complain about it.” And then saying about the GOP efforts in Ohio to redistrict that it “violates the spirit and language of the Ohio Constitution, and the mandate of 70% of voters who voted to end partisan gerrymandering. Twice.” Ironically, what Pepper is criticizing is precisely what’s happening in Virginia right now – and being ushered in by the DC beltway law firm he and Amy Acton choose to work with. The law firm that is founded by Marc Elias – Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign lawyer and the guy in the middle of Fusion GPS, the Steele Dossier and the Russia Probe. What happened in Virginia last night: the nonpartisan commission (enacted by a constitutional amendment passed by 67.5% of voters) the same type of commission Pepper and Dems pushed for in Ohio (but failed to get with Issue 1) is being skipped over in favor of – you guessed it – a Democrat-controlled legislature drawing the congressional map. A map that will almost eliminate Republican representation in the state. If the principle of gerrymandering is something Pepper – and his running mate Amy Acton – opposes, then we can expect him to rebuff his law firm and denounce their efforts in Virginia, right? Because he’s opposed to “partisan gerrymandering that favors one party,” right? davidpepper.substack.com/p/dissecting-b… #Ohio #OhioNews #AmyActon #DavidPepper

New: Covid-19 vaccines roughly halved the chances a US adult would need to visit the ER or be hospitalized with their infections last fall and winter, according to two sources familiar with the findings of a new study. But you won’t hear about it from the agency that led the research: the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The current head of the CDC, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, who’s also director of the US National Institutes of Health, blocked the publication of those findings in the CDC’s flagship journal, the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, according to the sources. cnn.com/2026/04/22/hea…

I've had interesting discussions over the years on the role that same-sex marriage ban played in the 2024 election Karl Rove denied it up & down Kerry's Ohio spox - later a top press aide for Obama - said they lost the state b/c of the issue I know I saw amazing turnout increases
Jack Harrison@jbh502

@darreldrowland And that 2004 anti-marriage amendment drove a lot of the GOP vote. And today, it sits there meaningless in the Ohio Constitution.

@IAmGlennonX @VivekGRamaswamy Vivek's flagship economic accomplishment is his pharma company Riovant. Total revenue for the last 3 years is $140 million. The company lost $3.6 billion over that same time frame. That's Vivek in a nutshell. A whole lot of handwaving, not a lot of results.

We can stop pretending Democrats want fair redistricting. What they want is power, and Virginia showed everyone the playbook. They managed to pull off yesterday in Virginia what Ohio Democrats failed to do. They jammed a gerrymandering amendment into their state constitution that’s designed to create a permanent political power grab.

I assume every Republican who’s bitching and moaning about Virginia tonight fully supports legislation to eliminate all gerrymandering nationwide, right? Look forward to the next president signing that into law!
