I’m a lifelong fight fan, and had well over 100 backyard #boxing matches, but I had just enough official fights to have some hardware. Couple belts, couple trophies, a few medals. Not much, but for someone who was never built to compete in boxing, I’m proud of it. Sheer passion.

@ChrisStraitBox @AlBernstein No. The Leo loss is obviously. The Salido fight is very easy to score, and it wasn’t for him. Started too late. These are not tough fights to score.

I still don’t understand the gap in public perception vs. actual accomplishments regarding Lomachenko, especially when his fellow countryman Usyk has proven to be a much better pro boxer. It’s a reminder that intangibles are absolutely crucial at the highest level of boxing.

@snboxing @AlBernstein I think you’re forgetting the manner in which he won. 4 straight fights he made championship level fighters quit. I don’t think we’ve seen that before and I don’t think we’ll see it again. And all three of his losses have asterisks next to them.

@AlBernstein He’s a clear Hall of Famer to me. But if I look at who he beat I think at best he has a win over one potential Hall of Famer in Russell. He certainly didn’t beat a Murderer’s Row or anything.

Various #boxing cards are struggling at the box-office, @Chris120778 calls it 'the #NoTicketSalesVariant, lol. But to me, the one that stands out is this weekend is Keyshawn Davis. It's clear the shananigans of last year where he blew weight and acted like it was no big deal have hurt him. He was well on his way to becoming one of the really good regional draws in America (which are vital), but the folks of Norfolk are now speaking with their wallets. I give them credit. The public should have standards and hold people accountable Davis can get back in their good graces over time, but for the time being, he has to rebuild their trust.

@fire_starter457 All of California’s problems are caused by the federal tax inequality. We give 100 billion more than we get back. If you stop that bleed tomorrow and give California its independence, it would rival Canada or New Zealand within a year for quality of living.

I love how Republicans always attack California as “what happens when Democrats run a state,” as if AL, LA, MS, OK, and AR-states run by Republicans-aren’t places mostly known for low wages, shorter life expectancies, higher infant mortality rates, and ranking near the bottom in basically every educational category.
