I’ve realized that Twitter/X is generally an awful place for investors unless your goal is to understand why so many investors are confused and why so many make poor decisions. We have accounts on here who have been bearish on Google for over a year as the stock price doubled and are now taking victory laps on a 6% decline after Google posts monster earnings. So many people bullish on Google until the price moves down slightly then they conjure up 20 different talking points of why it *should* be down. Many posts that have gone viral are claiming totally factually incorrect statements about stocks that are proven wrong in the earnings report and earnings call. Blatant lies are spread like wildfire, most of the time with no corrections or community notes or they’re added too late to even matter. People who made terrible calls in the past delete their posts to try and erase their track record so they can continue to spread more slop that “sounds good” to millions of people. Not only has this issue not improved it’s gotten noticeably worse over the past year.

@ardaarkun I remember there was a guy named Bruce who was doing TA all the time and bearish on $AMR and $HCC, but he seems to have closed his X account.

What does it say about semi momentum when a company like ASML is trading this way after blowout earnings and raised guidance?

Superinvestor Guy Spier has reported no changes in his portfolio.. Last time we saw him making moves was Q4 2025, and he was closing $BABA, $GOOG, $AXP, $MA.. For people who dont know, Guy has been fighting aggressive form of brain cancer.. 🙏

@Mr_Derivatives from 2023 to now, on a yearly basis, quite often, even excluding the earnings days, I remember when Bard was released. I remember when there was a major new release from OpenAI

@taobanker man you have been extremely patient on this one. The Tencent I bought for my family is at -20% unrealized loss now. although their CNY only has access to Chinese stocks in China and some HK stocks indirectly, otherwise I would have bought US stocks for them

1/ 🇨🇭 Imagine owning a legal monopoly in one of the richest countries in the world. And no, it’s not Meta. It’s Swiss Marketplace Group (SWX:SMG). Born "overnight" in 2021, this company has quietly consolidated Switzerland's digital economy. Here is the breakdown of a wild "winner-take-all" story 👇

A YouTuber who made short-form videos and skits just made one of the most successful movies ever. It's doing over $100 million at the box office while costing less than $1 million to make. So far, a 100x return, not bad... The movie is called Obsession. I saw it on the opening weekend. It was playing on the smaller screens at the theater, with the theater half full. But sales jumped by 40% by the next weekend. Do you know how insane that is? For weekend sales to actually jump that much after a movie has already been out for a week? Absolutely crazy. A few reasons why this movie is doing so well. For one, it's purely original. There are so many remakes that any deeply original script has an advantage. Another thing is that this movie didn't rely on jump scares. Jump scares are rare, and if overused, they're cheap. This movie's horror was more creepy, weird, awkward, and psychologically difficult situations. Another thing is that the movie just looks so good. I have no clue how they shot it to look this atmospheric and good (lighting and sets) for less than a million. But I think the biggest reason this movie worked so well is the director's training. He's 26 years old. He's done YouTube for years, hundreds of sketches and short films. He has had feedback from the audience on what works and what doesn't. YouTube provides detailed analytics on everything, and the comments also provide feedback. You get instant audience reaction on everything you post. YouTube has made him an expert on this stuff before ever even making a full-length movie. What an amazing accomplishment. I suspect there will be many great YouTubers who jump to filmmakers, and I'm here for it.

@pandawatch88 you just trimmed Tencent? although I am not sure it's a good time to buy, but it doesn't seem like good time to sell Tencent at this price...

20% of the portfolio inside 5% of 52W lows. 20% of the portfolio inside 5% of 52W high. Talk about diversification. Tencent and Xiaomi charts look horrific, matching the fundamentals which for Tencent is growth deceleration and for Xiaomi a question mark on timing for a recovery. 15x LTM PE and 23x LTM PE. Seems fair to me. Sold some of those two and 1/3 to cash, 1/3 add to the AI pump names, and 1/3 add to banks and healthcare, at 6x PE and 80x PE, which are two of the few non-AI sectors where leaders are sort of holding on price and fundamentals within a 12-18month view.
