@0xDesigner I like this concept and there’s no denying the psychological impact of exclusivity and limited access. FOMO is real. I do think strong IP/KnowHow will play a big role in being able to remain valuable, perhaps bigger than the “luxury” element.

Concept: Luxury software In the near future, the most popular and sought after apps will be the ones you can't have. A short thread 🧵 1/X

@Viridian_Hawk Perhaps, although I think it was the lack of customers that were the issue last time... Interesting period ahead anyway, especially with Google’s recent announcement! 👀

@ChrisZeroG Seems the economics change when you own the rockets launching the satellites and they are reusable.

Can you think of a technology widely bet on that didn't *eventually* succeed? Not looking for specific companies (Segway), but rather underlying trends (micromobility) Many took longer than expected, but struggling to think one where many smart ppl completely missed the mark.

@TriMyData I find just setting a really clear timeframe (e.g. 1 hour) helps a lot to focus the mind. During this time, nothing else can happen. To be honest, this is my go-to for most work-related things, but it's especially good re creative work.

@ShaanVP A big part of consuming content (music, writing, audio, art…) is about a connection to the human(s) who created it. The technically best song/book/article could be AI generated, but it’ll never be people’s “favourite”. There’ll always be appetite for human generated stuff

How many years until all content becomes AI-generated? The tools are there: • GPT-3 (Text) • DALL-E-2 (Imagery) • Stealth Co we might invest in (Audio) Prediction: In 5 years, Twitter’s timeline will have only 50% human-produced content.

Day in the life of a bootstrapped Saas founder 🏆 Interviewed new devs, went really well 🏆 Started rolling out a new suite of features that completely changes our offer ❌ mobile app goes down so none of our coaches can interact with their clients through it. Still down Fml

@dagorenouf I went the other extreme and started a business before reading anything about how to do it. Made so many mistakes that I later learned about through reading 🤦‍♂️ I think best would be to read the most applicable book shortly before needing the content!

Dagobert - Corporate sellout 👔
I read books on how to build a startup for years 📙 Thought I had become an expert 🤓 But once I started building I saw it was completely different 😬 90% of what I read didn't apply 🤦‍♂️ Reading isn't a substitute for building 🙏

@thesamparr For sure, as outlined in the @reedhastings book "No Rules Rules". Hire really good people who don't need (so much) monitoring and therefore cut down on bodies & overheads. I like the elegance, but suspect you need v. good output-centric productivity measures!

I love the idea of: - less, but higher quality employees who are over paid - vs. lots of people who are OK (most tech companies). But…is this actually realistic? Any examples?

@TriMyData This is pretty much spot on for most academic research imo. A beautiful graphic / data plot is a rare treat in the world of scientific journals. Its often a shame though, as I feel a lot of good discoveries are let down by poor presentation.
