Has any of my followers in the UK an accessible kitchen they are happy with? Any recommendations?

The Covid-19 Inquiry has found that people avoided seeking treatment out of a desire not to 'burden' the NHS. If we had an assisted dying system, how many more would choose the quick way out rather than 'burden' the NHS, family, and friends?

Exclusive from @oliver_wright Airlines have been warned that they will face jet fuel shortages as soon as next month, risking flight cancellations to long-haul destinations at the end of the busy Easter holiday period Oil traders expect to see shortages of jet fuel from the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz within the coming weeks as reserve supplies are run down and not replaced This week, Vietnam became the first country to warn of possible flight cancellations from April after China and Thailand announced they were halting exports of fuel to maintain their own supplies Other countries are expected to follow suit in the coming days with industry experts warning that airlines could be forced to stop serving some long-haul destinations because they may not be able to get the fuel for the return journey Britain is also vulnerable to potential disruption if the conflict continues as the majority of the country’s imported jet fuel comes from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates thetimes.com/uk/transport/a…

I have some ideas how to do that: 1. Only buy level boarding trains. This will save millions. 2. Don’t send mobile roving teams to staffed stations. Every railway staff member must provide assistance. Period. 3. Stop window dressing projects. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

@ChimeWhistle A couple of friends have said DfT has asked TOCs to make £800m in savings collectively. They dont have many ways to save costs beyond staff.

The Class 222s are good trains with plenty of life left in them. They're having a major refurb for use with @ScotRail. No, they're not new - but the HSTs are excruciatingly expensive to run, and with major electrification planned, why order new multi-mode trains...

The Government’s plans for Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) are not good enough. Deaf & Disabled peoples' organisations are very concerned about the regulation. I'll keep pushing the London Fire Commissioner to ensure the Government put peoples lives before profit.

Following the vote of the Scottish Parliament against assisted dying, we now have a moral obligation to move quickly to make the urgently needed improvements in end of life care. 1/4

@flowergirl_lon If it's possible to turn up and go at places like Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Ribblehead and even Dent, then it can be possible anywhere on the network, but it requires proper staffing to be viable.

DOO has caused so many issues with assistance for disabled passengers. It needs to be halted and we need to have staff back on either every train or every platform from first to last train. TUAG is an explicit right & that can only work where there are HUMANS to deploy ramps.

Talking to the new leader of the train drivers’ union, Aslef: Dave Calfe. He says: "No to driver-only operation – every train should have a 2nd safety-critical person.” "Open-access rail firms [Lumo, Grand Central and Hull Trains] should be nationalised." independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

Tonight the Scottish Parliament voted NO to legalising assisted suicide in Scotland by 69 votes to 57 Thank you to the MSP's who listened to the evidence & experiences of all those with concerns about this Bill Hopefully Westminster will follow the Scottish Parliament's example
Not Dead Yet UK@TheNotDeadYetUK

In the end more MSPs understood that the risks were too great. For now. As this BBC headline makes clear, the battle is far from over. We must continue to make the case that disabled people's voices and concerns must be central to this debate. #post" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">bbc.co.uk/news/live/cx2g…

Remarkable speech from Pam Duncan-Glancy (Independent): “There will be countless disabled people in our constituencies who haven’t had the choice to have a shower in weeks. People who can’t choose when they go to bed. Some who will already be in bed. “People who can’t choose what to eat. People who can’t choose to go out of their house, because it isn’t accessible. People tonight who can’t choose the care or the healthcare they need, including at the end, because it simply isn’t available for them. “And crucially, there will be disabled people whose struggle is so hard that they’ve given up hope, given up fighting, and will be considering tonight taking their own lives. “I know this, because I have been all of these people I’ve described. They live in fear every single day, worrying about what new limit someone else will put on their lives, and what little power they will have to change it. They live every single day without choice at all… “In a world where so many have little or no choice, we can’t risk making death the only choice they ever have.”
