Just spent an entire day wading through Newlib, GCC, and libstdc++ code, trying to patch our GCC15/16 SH toolchains for KallistiOS in an attempt fix a long-standing issue with using a modern C++ API on the Sega Dreamcast. We support every freaking common time API under the sun with KallistiOS: 1) Direct kernel timer routines. 2) C89's time() and clock(). 3) C11's timespec_get() with C23 extensions. 4) POSIX's gettimeofday() and clock_gettime(). 5) C++11's std::chrono. 6) SDL1/2/3 timer APIs. Every one of these routines reports the highest resolution ticks supported by their respective APIs... up to 80ns increments, which is the finest granularity the SH4's TMU peripheral can even tick at... Every API that is... EXCEPT FOR C++'s GODDAMN STD::CHRONO. For quite awhile now, EVERY clock source queried with std::chrono returns a maximum resolution of... A WHOLE FREAKING SECOND??? WTF? As it turns out, deep within GCC's libstdc++ configuration scripts, std::chrono attempts to detect the presence of certain low-level timing APIs to call into for the implementation of its clock sources... The problem? It looks for the presence of _POSIX_TIMERS, which is an entire asynchronous timing API which we hadn't implemented within KOS yet, just to determine that it should back std::chrono with POSIX's clock_gettime()--which we do support! So without _POSIX_TIMERS defined in KOS, what does GCC back std::chrono's clocks with? Freaking C89's time() function--returning a unix timestamp with a whopping 1 second resolution!!!! So basically I had to go patch Newlib to define _POSIX_TIMERS for GCC when targeting SH, then I had to go stub out all of the other POSIX asynchronous timer routines that we have yet to fully implement within KOS, and finally, I had to go patch libstdc++'s configuration scripts to try to use clock_gettime() for our GCC target tuple... Was a long, hard road through hell and back, but... C++ users rejoice, as you're no longer cucked out of high-resolution timing with std::chrono! PR incoming!

Destiny 2@DestinyTheGame

Read the full blog at bung.ie/d2_may_21_2026 For almost twelve years, we have had the joy and honor to explore the Destiny universe with you all. Through all the ups and downs, surprises and triumphs, building Destiny alongside our players has been a monumental privilege. While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2. As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio. Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to. We’re proud of Destiny 2, the places it took us, and the legacy it has created. Because of you all, our universe is vast, built on years of shared stories, adventures, and victories. From the Cosmodrome to the Pale Heart to the Lawless Frontier, we have forged life-long memories and friendships with you all. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made that journey with us. From the deepest part of our hearts, thank you, and we'll see you in the stars.

🇲🇽 A threat actor is advertising a massive alleged Mexican identity verification dataset containing more than 800,000 files, including government ID documents, selfies, bank statements, and payroll-related records. According to the underground listing, the dataset allegedly contains: • Front and back images of Mexican INE identity cards • Selfie/KYC verification images • Bank statement PDFs • Payroll documentation • More than 120 GB of total data The post claims the archive includes: • ~293,000 ID front images • ~261,000 ID back images • ~182,000 selfie verification images • ~67,000 bank statement PDFs • ~14,000 payroll-related files If authentic, this would represent one of the more dangerous categories of data exposure because it combines: • Government-issued identity documents • Facial verification/selfie images • Financial documentation • Employment/payroll information This combination creates what threat actors consider a “full-spectrum identity package,” which can significantly increase the success rate of: • Identity theft • Synthetic identity fraud • Loan fraud • Account takeover • SIM swapping • Crypto exchange verification abuse • KYC bypass attempts • Financial impersonation operations Selfie images paired with government IDs are particularly valuable in underground ecosystems because many modern financial institutions and fintech platforms rely on: • Facial verification • Liveness checks • Remote onboarding • Digital KYC workflows Compromise of these datasets can potentially enable attackers to: • Reconstruct digital identities • Defeat weak verification workflows • Conduct highly targeted social engineering • Open fraudulent financial accounts • Circumvent onboarding controls in poorly secured platforms The inclusion of bank statements and payroll documents also introduces additional risks: • Income verification abuse • Tax fraud • Employer impersonation • Financial profiling • Credit application fraud This type of dataset is often associated with: • Fintech platforms • Loan providers • KYC vendors • Identity verification providers • Banking onboarding systems • Document processing services One important trend visible across underground forums is the rising market demand for: • “Verified identities” • Full KYC packages • Selfie-ID combinations • Financial verification documents Unlike basic credential leaks, these datasets are far more difficult for victims to remediate because: • Faces cannot be changed • Government IDs have long validity periods • Historical financial documents remain useful • Identity attributes persist for years Organizations handling identity verification workflows should prioritize: • Secure storage segregation for KYC assets • Encryption of document repositories • Strict retention policies • Watermarking and access auditing • Monitoring for bulk exports • Third-party vendor risk assessments • Zero-trust access controls around onboarding systems At this stage, the claims remain publicly unverified. However, if confirmed, the exposure of combined identity documents, facial verification images, and banking records would represent a severe privacy and financial fraud risk affecting hundreds of thousands of individuals. 🇲🇽 #DDW #Intelligence #CyberSecurity #DarkWeb #DataBreach #IdentityTheft #Fraud #KYC #Fintech #Privacy #ThreatIntelligence
