@uri_sohn Land use change makes up 23% of average beef (beef herd) emissions. So while the average effect is 99 kgCO₂eq per kg of meat, the marginal effect is more like 76 kgCO₂eq. Taking out taking out LUC makes poultry look even better by comparison. Source: ourworldindata.org/grapher/food-e…

Those CO2 emission estimates by source of protein (e.g., cow vs chicken). Are they marginal or average effects? (i picture large but fixed deforestation costs)

Els Verds alemanys @Die_Gruenen han treballat en una proposta de xarxa de trens nocturns a Europa per connectar 200 grans ciutats europees. Una bona alternativa al transport aeri que comença a obrir-se pas. Danke @AnnaDeparnay @MatthiasGastel

Statistical terms: what they really mean Multicolinearity— they all look the same Heteroscedasticity— the variation varies Attenuation— being too modest Overfitting— too good to be true Confounding— nothing is what it seems P-value— it’s complicated

Very pleased that our paper, with the amazing @tomfratti and @fasani_f, has been accepted at the @JEEA_News!! We study the scarring effects on refugee labour outcomes of temporary employment bans imposed upon arrival. If interested, DP version here: iza.org/publications/d…

Female academics are *much* more affected by the birth of a child than are male academics. Academic mothers are much more likely to... ◾temporarily leave the labor force ◾and, if they return, shift away from tenure-track positions. scholar.harvard.edu/files/sdcheng/…

Why has inequality grown? Hubmer, Krusell & Smith have an answer: "We find that the significant drop in tax progressivity starting in the late 1970s is the most important driver of the increase in wealth inequality since then" @nberpubs #EconTwitter nber.org/books-and-chap…
