Stupidly and naively, it didn't occur to me that Amazon would force-retire my Kindle Fire 7 that my wife gave me for an anniversary well over a decade ago, one of my most treasured possessions. It wasn't hurting anyone. It just sat there and worked every time I asked.

Do you remember in The Lion King when scar told the hyenas if they helped him become king he will make their lives better and then their lives didn’t get better and he blamed them for it. And upon realizing this, the hyenas ate him. Do with that story what you will.

I often find myself thinking about the villain in Tenet, a rich and powerful man who’s dying and is so obsessed with his own narcissistic control of others that he’d rather destroy the world than forfeit one ounce of his influence over it. No reason why that’s on my mind lately.

Donald can't launch nukes on his own. There is a process and it ends with 2 random guys with keys. It only takes one guy to prevent disaster. If you're one of the guys with a key, don't do it. Disobey the order.
