@horror4kids@BillSimmons Agree that this doesn't fully solve skipping back-to-backs- the best way to do that is to require a player to sit out multiple games after they've passed some threshold of one-game absences.
Sounds good in theory but correct me if I’m wrong here…A star who plays 36 to 38 minutes/game can hit 2,000 minutes in 55-58 games meaning they could still miss 25-27 games and still qualify for MVP, All‑NBA, etc as well as still skip back‑to‑backs and national tv games. I think this is exactly what the league is trying to prevent?
If Silver announced today that he’s changing the MVP/All-NBA minimum from 65 to 62 (20 games missed max), would anyone object? Just admit you made the number too high and fix it on the fly. Cade missing out on All-NBA would be outrageous.
@DanKelley66 Not an argument, just a "yes and"; Ainge had a Steve Kerr/Robert Horry knack for showing up in the right place at the right time (and contributing)
When birthday boy Danny Ange retired from the NBA in 1995, he was 1 of only 3 players in NBA history to have made at least 1,000 3-pointers, along with Dale Ellis and Reggie Miller.
Ainge is currently 181st on the NBA's career list of 3-point field goals. It's a different sport.
@char_cliff Had just assumed Jameer Nelson and the 2003-04 St. Joseph's Hawks started off unranked but you're right- they don't qualify for this because they started out at #17
The Miami RedHawks are the first team since Larry Bird's 1979 Indiana State Sycamores to:
-Begin regular season unranked in the AP poll
-Finish the regular season undefeated
-Win an NCAA Tournament game
So it's obviously not the most important thing here, but NBA Awards eligibility has to become minutes-based rather than games-based, right?
The fact that Cade is ineligible now but could become eligible if he hobbles out for 30 seconds in 1 of the next 5 games is preposterous.
Last 2 Nights In The NBA:
Wolves over Jazz… by 36.
Raptors over Bulls… by 30.
Hornets over Heat… by 30.
Thunder over Nets.. by 29.
Nuggets over Sixers… by 28.
Spurs over Kings… by 28.
Knicks over Pacers… by 26.
Celtics over Warriors… by 21.
This is officially ridiculous.
@BobbyMarks42 Or, and hear us out for a second, we could just fix tanking by implementing a system which incentivizes winning while still giving bad teams the best picks:

We might want to rethink expansion after looking at some of these scores the past couple of nights.
In the past 2 games, Brooklyn has trailed by a combined 60 points at the half.
First response to a player being diagnosed with a collapsed lung probably shouldn’t be about when your team plays the Pistons next or what that means for the playoff standings.
Congrats to the @utahjazz on their Gold Plan Standings debut! Utah immediately vaults to the #2 pick because the Pacers, Wizards, and Nets are a combined 0-12 since being eliminated

I used to LOVE March Madness…
Took “sick days” every year on Thursday + Friday, posted at a bar with 4 screens all day.
This year I don’t even care enough to fill out a bracket (but picking Michigan)
Wtf happened… did I get older or did it just stop hitting the same?
I’d like to thank @British_Airways for bumping me out of my already paid for business class seat, Because I didn’t check in until 9 hours before my flight at the airport, Which had no British airways attendant present until I was in London, BUT Flight attendants were wonderful.
Game 225 Names:
LeBron James
Jim Brown
Cy Young
Myles Garrett
Last spot could easily be Nap Lajoie, but we thought it'd be more playable with Garrett (or even Jose Ramirez) on there instead.
Game 224 Answer: NBA Dads
Rick Barry
LeBron James
Gary Payton
Tim Hardaway
Honorable Mention to Patrick Ewing, but we gave Hardaway the nod because Ewing's kid only played 7 NBA games
