"And it was making me think a lot because I've been on SSRIs for over a decade, almost fifteen years probably, and they were calling out the lack of research on long-term use of these things.
"They were calling out the lack of information that doctors give about coming off of these meds and kind of the psychological effects they can have.

The idea isn't to "work with the left"
The left and right are perspective containment zones built by the system to keep people pointed away from the actual problems
The idea is to realize that the left right divide is not the actual dimension for how you determine friends and enemies
Instead, start thinking of political ideology as life vs anti-life. For example, the hippie chick "on the left" lives in a life affirming way where the techno transhumanist "on the right" is living in contradiction to life
As things get bad financially, people will revert back to an Occupy Wall Street understanding of politics and there will be real opportunity for populist organizing of Americans against the kleptocrats among the pro life side of the ideological spectrum

I wish we could get over the left/right divide, but it doesn't look like that will be possible, at least not until the left fractures a few more times. Subtract the third-worldists and the technocratic nihilists and the Zionist elements, and then we can probably work with what remains.

Right, if homeschooling is actually super high quality, then homeschooling families should not object to being evaluated, tested, and checked-in-on to make sure their kids are actually learning.

Look, pro-homeschooling people are piling on this guy but he's not wrong at all. I know of families who are straight-up failing to teach their children beyond a 2nd-grade education. Like 16-year-old kids who don't know what the Capital of the US is, have never heard of Toronto, and could not perform a basic algebra problem. While it's true that there are many excellent homeschooling families whose instruction far exceeds that of any public school, the fact is that the American system of "school your kids however you want" does also yield a lot of severely stunted kids who get stuck playing "catch-up" for the rest of their lives. My wife was homeschooled, we might homeschool, I'm not averse to the practice per se, but it's a fact that there's a whole world of multi-generational homeschoolers who are not and will not rise above a 2nd or 3rd grade education level by their own volition. Should the state intervene in these cases? I dunno, the answer to the question is not as "easy" as many make it out to be. The idea of barely getting through 'Mary Had a Little Lamb' at the age of 16 should be appalling, and it IS happening in some American homeschooler families.

You see this kind of thing in struggling lower-income Southern households, and it tells a very specific story.
When life hasn't delivered much.... no wealth, no power, no real social standing.... some folks discover that white supremacy is basically a free membership card to a club that makes them feel superior without requiring any actual achievement.
It's the world's laziest status symbol.
The starter kit is always the same:
*A Confederate flag honoring a war their ancestors lost badly 160 years ago.
*A gun they'll never actually need.
*A Bible they've never actually read.
*And Fox News running 24/7 telling them they're REAL Americans.... unlike those fancy elitist Democrats who are secretly importing an army of replacement voters to steal their....
Their what exactly? Their Dollar General? Their 1987 Camaro on cinder blocks in the yard?
FOX found the formula, and they never let go of it: Take a man who has nothing, tell him the reason he has nothing is because those people are taking it.... and suddenly he's not a struggling nobody.
He's a soldier in a cultural war. He matters. He's relevant. He becomes a MAGA Warrior!
And THAT.... ladies and gentlemen.... is precisely how a twice-impeached, four-times-indicted, 34-time felon, bankrupt New York con man who golfs at his own resorts became the hero of the working man.

And I write this so that hopefully they will recognize what they have done and what they are doing and snap out of it.....

Instead of these counterproductive calls for unity that have been failing consistently all my life, someone should call for even more division in politics. So much division that there are 129 sides of every issue. Then we might finally have to form coalitions & try to get along.
