It was an honor to stand alongside climate leaders at the 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 in Mpigi district, celebrating World Earth Day 2026.
At Spiro, we are committed to leading Uganda’s clean mobility revolution, and this summit reinforced our mission to create a greener, more sustainable future.
Speaking at the event, our Deputy Country Head, Bruce Mucunguzi, highlighted that Uganda is at the forefront of a transformative journey towards clean mobility, driven by a commitment to a greener, more inclusive future.
“We are achieving this by making electric motorcycles accessible and affordable, fostering essential workforce skills, and creating meaningful employment opportunities for our vibrant youth,” he stated.
“Through the strategic integration of cutting-edge technology with local accessibility, and a dedicated investment in Ugandan talent, we are not just envisioning, but actively shaping a sustainable transport landscape. This is how a brighter, cleaner Uganda is taking shape, one electric ride at a time.”
We believe electric mobility is becoming more accessible for Ugandans through flexible pricing, lower operating costs, and technology built for safety and efficiency. From cleaner transport to job creation and reduced dependence on fuel, this transition is shaping a more sustainable and resilient future for Uganda.

To health educators & promoters, epidemiogists, nutritionists & all health professionals, I am really worried. And you too should be.
Why? The battle against non- Communicable diseases is far from being won.
The dominant but mistaken thinking that being heavy, overweight & obese= being healthy and on the other hand being slim & small-framed = being unhealthy is a serious cause for alarm. To the contrary, a lean body= a strong one 💪. Is this hard to understand?
Weight loss can only be worrying if it's unintentional, unexplainable, and most times due to malnutrition or an involuntary matabolic syndrome associated with underlying chronic sickness. BUT if weight loss is intentional & achieved through measures such as dieting or slimming that involve reducing one's total body mass through calorie reduction, increased physical activity, or lifestyle changes its nothing else BUT an act to celebrate. It is one of the best health targets/outcomes every rational & disciplined person should set and aim to achieve.
Yes, looking lean or slim may worry some that may not be used with a person's new looks, BUT it is all ok.
Obesity has never been a badge of honor!
So dear friends sending me messages of "quick recovery"( and especially those of you doing so out of love, not mockery), please take heart , I am not sick. My new looks are intentional.
Its well with me & I thank God for all his blessings and mostly the gift of life!
Otherwise,Greetings from NALI, our Political MECCA!

'We have never seen them; they have never paid us a visit,' said the political prisoners, expressing concern about those claiming to be in talks with the government. ~ @JoelSsenyonyi , @NUP_Ug #EbigamboTebitta

@mkainerugaba IRAN,was once a powerful financial giant in the middle east, being rich in oil,gas and many minerals?
How about today? collapsed,
Reason? sanctions,
If Uganda face the same, you and the family won't have peace, but surrender the freedom that your father has infringed for years?
English

@OkelloDaniels @mkainerugaba I feel sorry for people like you who respond to what they don't know

@mkainerugaba This is radical, what does USA get from Uganda

To the young lawyer looking for a job, go easy on yourself.
There is no established formula for securing employment after law school. The journey is rarely linear, often quiet, and sometimes deeply uncertain.
The space between qualification and placement is not failure; it is a season many pass through, even if few speak about it openly.
Embrace the weight of patience this period demands. Let it not break you, but mould you.
The rejection you will face is not a verdict on your brilliance. The silence from recruiters is not proof of inadequacy. Sometimes doors do not open because they are still being built.
You passed through law school. You survived the pressure. You earned the title #Lawyer. Do not allow a temporary season of unemployment to erase that ink from your name.
There will be days when your CV feels heavier than your hope, when social media reads like a highlight reel of everyone else’s progress, and your inbox refuses to blink. On such days, go easy on yourself.
In this #job search, you are allowed to rest without quitting. You are allowed to doubt without surrendering. This season is not punishment; it is preparation. It is the slow teaching of humility, resilience, and faith in work not yet visible.
So breathe. Apply again. Ask for help. Learn something new. Cry if you must, then rise gently.
Go easy on yourself, young lawyer. The law is not running away from you. Your time is walking toward you, unrushed and certain. And when it arrives, you will realise that this waiting did not delay you; it prepared you.

Aboard a flight to Tanzania, I found myself seated next to a son of a senior NRM politician. A loquacious fellow he was – a conflicted patriot, I should say – he treated me to some private, personal struggles of his parents & their friends.
I tell this story as much as I could recollect – against which I ask: for whose children are these people "protecting the gains"?
In @observerug this week.
