Aston Villa need to come within €60m for 25/26 in UEFA's FER (essentially a PSR type measure) but they will know that if they use all of their capacity to get under €60m, 26/27 is very difficult to comply with (€0m). The question is how much they need to do by 30 June. If this is mainly about 26/27, they can still get top dollar for Rogers. If they have to sell for 25/26, Arsenal are going to get £20m off the price.

This is the blueprint. Help start the fire by excitedly reporting the interest. Add kindling to ensure it keeps burning by constantly tweeting the same thing with the words changed or moved into a different order. Watch the fire spread, wait for the player to say he wants the move and then declare it’s up to the clubs to agree a fee. His current club didn’t want to sell but now the conditions for the buying club to succeed have been stoked and the wind is in their favour. Job done. And it will be repeated.
