As a costume designer, one of the key responsibilities is reading, analyzing, and conceptualizing the script. It is important for the costume designer to understand the entire story, as costumes help communicate a character’s journey. Another key role is researching the time period, culture, and character background. Character details are often provided by the director, but can also be found within the script itself. Sketching costume concepts and creating mood boards is also essential, especially because characters evolve throughout a story. This morning, the Uganda Film Festival (UFF) hosted a special engagement with producers of films nominated in the Viewers’ Choice Awards category The session was graced by the Executive Director of UCC @UCC_ED , who shared his personal journey in acting dating back to 1977, offering insight, inspiration, and a powerful reminder of the growth of Uganda’s film industry. He congratulated the nominees behind Waka Waka, Longing to Belong, You May Kiss the Bride Goodbye, ADUI, and Maama Wange on reaching this milestone and encouraged them to continue telling authentic Ugandan stories. #UFF2026| #UgandaFilmFestival

Nyombi Thembo - UCC ED, @MultiChoiceGRP confirmed that they will be paying cinema tickets for the screenings of the 5 films which are competing in the Viewers Choice Category. These are; 1. Waka Waka 2. Longing to Belong 3. You May Kiss the Bride Goodbye 4. ADUI 5. Maama Wange So whichever cinema you want, look at the screening schedule, and your ticket will be paid as long as you go to the cinema. This offer is for only these films and only if you turn up.
