Emily and I have been spanning time, like people that love and adore each other for a couple days over a year now.

@CircleBrigade i am always thinking of the scene where they sit around discussing "my lifestyle determines my deathstyle" and they're just blown the fuck away by it

Best movie quotes all time: 1. Every line of dialog in The Third Man 2. "when to legend becomes fact, print the legend", The Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance 3. The therapy session between Lars and Dave Mustaine in Some Kind Of Monster 4. Every line in Metallica:Some Kind of Monster

@HowardLeaderman In all my years drumming for bad bands I've heard plenty of people talk like James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett but never heard anyone even have slightly similar thoughts and ideas like Lars Ulrich, truly a once in a lifetime brain he has.

@cwik_greg He only has to average 30HR/year for the next five years at 33. He could average 40/year and be at 550 by the end of his current contracts end pretty easily. By then you kinda have to put him in.

@blondederin What was Thomson's issue? Loving too much? Caring too hard? Taking endless bullets for Taijuan Walker and AAA relievers? I bet he gave the players capri suns and share bags of doritos post game and drove them home in a comically large minivan. GOATed manager.

The good thing about being 2-0 in the Mattingly era is that Rob Thomson got fired and we seem to have miraculously gotten better. The bad thing about being 2-0 in the Mattingly era is that if it continues Dave Dombrowski is going to skate by and keep his job when realistically he’s a way bigger problem than Thomson ever was.

@astromarko The sport isnt going the way of NFL and NBA where coaches are basically glorified cheerleaders for their cancerous tumors(players) but MLB has definitely softened on any discipline for poor play, guys will be in the lineup on an 0-27 when they should be benched for a day or two.

@CircleBrigade I agree with you on the babying of players. and not just in Philly but everywhere. There is much lack of discipline at the plate these days and I blame that on managers.

I've never seen a free speech absolutist make such a good case for mass censorship of ideas of all kinds.

Hear me out: Michael Gandolfini is too damn good of an actor not to pick up his dad’s legacy. Sopranos reboot: it’s 2026, and Meadow is the custodian of her father’s fallen empire; the mafia exists today as merely ghost stories of a forgotten time. She’s struggling to keep Satriale’s going after the pandemic, as it’s a museum to her father’s life and legacy. Carmela, Janice, Rosalie and Uncle Sil gather over Sunday dinners to reminisce. They wheel in Junior who is deaf and mute in his severe old age. AJ has lived in Hollywood for years as a film producer, and is making a film about his Dad’s life - and how the Italian mafia was the last system of checks and balances against a corrupt government machine. Gone are the omertà driven bosses of the 70’s; replaced by politicians blinded by power and greed. As he’s auditioning actors to play his father, in walks a young man who is his spitting image named Christopher Arogon. He grew up in Vegas with a single mother. He didn’t know his father, but knows he was named after someone important to he and his mom. He’s been trying to make it as an actor for years, and his mother told him to go out for this part. He’d be perfect for it. Because he’s her son with Tony. He’s AJ’s half-brother, played by Michael Gandolfini.

@IYKbaseball Part of baseball is enjoying myth and legend. Did Nolan Ryan really throw 108? Probably not, but it's more fun if he did. As The Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance put it "when the legend becomes fact, print the legend"

My favorite part is how close it's brought Emily and I together, I can't imagine a life without her and I don't think I'd be able to raise a child with anyone else I'd have met, either in the past or a hypothetical future. Children, have them! It's a good thing!

I'd enjoy it a lot more if I cared about stuff like her rolling over or eating solid food for the first time, but for the most part I'm just grinding until I can hear her babble and start to have "conversations" with her and not just sing the ABC's for five minutes every hour.

A week shy of having of the half year mark of my daughter being born and so far I rate it an 8 out of 10! It's a truly beautiful life changing experience, but it has been detrimental to my health, something Emily seems to have avoided, luckily.
