It is incredibly distasteful to use our heroic dead for a political attack on Memorial Day. I’m a Democrat and I condemn this post by the DNC.

Despicable, Adam. I served with both Adam Schiff and Tulsi @DNIGabbard. Adam was one of the two most devious members I ever met in Congress. He reeked with deception. Tulsi and I first met Memorial Day eve at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as she paid her respects with no cameras in sight. We didn’t always agree, but she was always honest and even came to Greensboro multiple times to show her support for Kelly and I. We will pray for Tulsi and Abraham as they walk through this season and, a huge thanks to @MeghanMcCain for speaking out on behalf of Tulsi.
Adam Schiff@SenAdamSchiff

My thoughts go out to Tulsi Gabbard and her family, as her husband battles this serious health problem. I hope and pray that he makes a speedy and full recovery. While the circumstances around her departure are deserving of our sympathy, let’s be clear: Tulsi Gabbard’s only positive contribution to our nation's national security is her resignation. She politicized intelligence. She dismantled critical agencies keeping Americans safe. She weaponized the IC to pursue baseless election fraud claims. And more. We must ensure that her tenure — marked by a devotion to the person of the president and not to the security of the country — represents a terrible exception at DNI and not the new normal.

My kids got their school photos back. One girl in my son’s class looks like your typical “non-binary” kid and has a boys name, so I asked my son if they were “trans.” He replied “I don’t know. I don’t talk to her at all in case I get in trouble for getting her pronouns wrong” No wonder trans identifying teens have high rates of suicidal ideation when other kids won’t even speak to them, not because they are mean, but because of the rules and traps the stupid ideology itself sets.

@angijones I’ll bet that most any transgender child would welcome being asked about themselves and then having the other person adopt using their name and pronouns. It’s more about the deliberate refusal by others to accept them for their genuine selves that inflicts hurt.

On January 6th I followed the crowd into the Capitol and shouted. Police stood by the whole time, hanging out with us and sometimes directing us places. At one point near the House Chambers I was walking downstairs when a trio of some special section, secret service looking men started pointing guns in my direction. Confused and annoyed, I walked the other way and when I saw a normal police officer asked him why they were doing that. He informed me a protestor (Ashli Babbit) had been killed, and advised me to leave the building. I walked towards the exit and after a short rest on the bench I left. I harmed nobody and damaged no property that day and complied with all police orders. What I received for that was a pre-dawn raid at my parents house, where my 1 month post-partum wife and I were staying, on Biden's first day in office. His DOJ had signed the order to arrest me 3 hours after his inauguration. In the subsequent weeks I received death threats online and harassing phone calls, something that would be ongoing for the next few years. I was banned from Meta and Paypal. My wife and I were both debanked by PNC and banned from Airbnb. My wife was detained at the airport for hours with our newborn daughter. I was charged with 4 misdemeanors and the 1512 unconstitutional felony. The government offered to drop the misdemeanors if I pled to the felony. The felony was a lie, so I refused and went to trial. At trial the prosecution for 2 days straight was allowed to show footage to the jury of things that occurred around the Capitol I wasn't present for "for context." When we asked to put forward footage that contradicted the prosecution's "context" we were not allowed. They could show what they wanted, we could not. Police officers were then put on the stand for the next 2 days who cried about their experiences. I had no idea who they were. They admitted they never saw me or interacted with me. Nevertheless like every other J6er, I lost, and was sentenced to 4 years and $22k in fines and restitution. Yet even after the Supreme Court overturned the felony, the judge would not let me out until my misdemeanor sentences of a year were maxed out. Because she can't count she actually kept me in longer - to the extent she intervened at the last minute to make the prison release me on a Sunday, something that is against BOP rules. My family sat outside the prison gates the Friday before practically the whole day waiting in vain because of this pettiness. But the government wasn't satisfied with their pound of flesh: after my release they took me back in for resentencing, to attempt to have me resentenced after the fact to my misdemeanors consecutively, so I'd be taken from my family again and have another 1.5 years behind bars. This time I won, as they had no legal precedent and it skirted on violating double jeopardy since I had served my full prison time. Even still, it cast a cloud over the holidays and cost me another 20k my family couldn't afford. People ask whether prison was bad, and yeah of course prison sucked. It was a hard and violent place. I was present for a stabbing, and was lucky to avoid two fights and a race war. But dealing with Biden's DOJ and the DC Judiciary was the real trauma - they would grind down your spirit by weaponizing the legal system and use the endless procedure to bankrupt you. I had nightmares for months after release that I had somehow been hit with new charges. By the time I was pardoned by President Trump, I had spent literally every single day of Biden's presidency either in prison or under some form of supervision. I had incurred over $300k in legal fees and over $1 million in lost business. It was a reign of terror, and yet it was a mere foreshadowing of what they had planned for anyone else who opposed them under Kamala. The country should never forget it.

"My skin didn't char but I was screaming in agony, my tears just sizzled away." Homelander has a few moments that give insight to his relationship with pain. It defined his life and yet he has grown numb to it. He responds with anger in almost every instance of challenge but that's not because of the pain, it's the sheer desire for vengeance on a world that created him to receive and perform every torture and manipulation. Homelander took on three supes at once, got beaten, tossed around and nearly killed. He was inches from losing everything...but he didn't even hint at begging. He simply got more and more furious. Watch his fight with Maeve in s3, she can and does make him bleed but he goes for vengeance and immediately takes her eye. Not because he's so scared of her causing him pain but because he wants her to suffer much like anyone else crossing him as part of getting his pay back. Same for the guys who tortured him when he was a child. Homelander lasered his own arm open and didn't give much of a shit because pain isn't new to him whatsoever. He's an egomaniacal psychopath with a horrific history of intense childhood trauma turning him into a vengeful monster. This ending feels more like a self masturbatory fantasy where Kripke sees his enemies begging to suck his cock while he kills them. It does not however, for many in the audience, feel like the ending for Homelander. A broken monster losing the only avenue of enacting vengeance on the terrible world that he always wanted approval from. I would have perhaps expected him to see red, to enter an impotent rage, unable to do the damage he's desperate to achieve only to reach a despondent end. Knowing he is now incapable of taking that revenge, and has to simply deal with his psychopathy. Ending on a hard fought, bloody fight with Butcher, who would eventually win due to his training but at the very least give us a decent back and forth about how much meaning could be drawn from this fight. Butcher was created by Homelander and there's something to say about both men being exposed nerves turned empty shells, struggling to feel anything by taking even a sliver of vengeance whenever possible. I would picture them both drenched in blood, fighting to the bitter end, devoid of humanity, demanding payment for something they can't even fully rationalise anymore, after having taken so many lives. At the end, they couldn't even follow through on the threat Homelander was warned to be throughout the entire series, stemming from having lost a loving mother and father to protect and raise him as opposed to a sterile laboratory. The countless humiliations and tortures he suffered as a child, created Homelander as we know him. I guess, him being humiliated at the end is a good enough throughline to argue this was somehow worth it? "Evil Superman" was mostly a bad joke and they cashed in a petty ending for social media instead of finding something more in the material. Nothing here has layered thematic value for the history the show presented, your just supposed to vicariously enjoy kicking your own personal monster while he's powerless, enjoy him begging to suck your cock and eat shit while you kill him. It's all a rather long waste of time and can happily sit next to so many other stories that fail to realise their potential in this generation. But oh well, we still have Mandalorian and Grogu I guess...

I’m sure Homelander here has never felt that kind of pain before Bro started crying 😭

@KingGreyVT @MauLer93 Regardless of whether your point is correct or not (I haven’t seen the show), this is where you lose me. You overcommitted and made an accusation of someone’s character rather than sticking to the point, thus invalidating your argument wholesale. Try again.

Friendly fire? One of the three deceased Muslims killed at the terror-linked Islamic Center of San Diego praised Adolph Hitler for killing Jews. Amin Abdullah is being celebrated by the media and Muslims on social media. The two teens who killed themselves after the shooting appeared to have left behind manifestos praising Hitler. The mosque is infamous for having some of the 9/11 hijackers among its members. ngocomment.com

@WomenAreReals @Martina Don’t you think it’s high time that everyone minded their own business? If someone trans isn’t hurting anyone, what’s the problem? We used to be told that gay folks would somehow get straight people to be gay. Now it’s trans folks. Who’s next? ( I am a straight 68 yr old woman)

My experience with street protests is that young women are often the most aggressive defenders of the trans agenda. But this week in DC flipped my reality. A 17-year-old girl looked me straight in the face and said, before she even knew I was a terf: “Trans isn’t a real thing.” The female receptionists for the 8 Democrats who voted to stop secret school transitions were completely open to my pitch that men can’t become women. And when I showed young female Democratic staffers, in very woke offices, men’s mugshots and asked them to imagine being locked in a cell with him, they visibly blanched. These young folks may save us yet. The fight continues.

Betty Boop wasn't black, but I'm not bothered by this casting. One of the biggest avatars of the flapper era was the talented and heroic Josephine Baker (who spied for the Allies and was a major help to the Resistance), so if it strikes that sort of aesthetic, it could be interesting.

Quinta Brunson will star as Betty Boop in a new film. The film - made in collaboration with the creator's grandson - would follow the origin & evolution of Betty Boop through the POV of her creator, Max Fleischer. (Source: variety.com/2026/film/news…)

Anthony Starr is the reason The Boys survived. He made Kripke's shitty writing feel purposeful. His passion in every scene, with every meme worthy expression, convinced the audience there was far more substance only for the finale to leave you looking back with near nothing. Excellent actor, hope he gets better opportunities.
The Boys Out of Context Clips@TheBoysOOCC

Eric Kripke reveals Antony Starrs goal was never to create Homelander as a Donald Trump Parody. #TheBoys “I totally understand Ant's point of view. He's like, 'I'm not doing a caricature. I'm trying to create a character with a consistent internal life.' And I absolutely agree and respect that," Kripke says. "So we'll just work on purely internal logic and character motivation and we won't bring Trump into it all that much." (Via:@EW)

@EmbracingTara There only $17 if you add guac and double meat. Otherwise there $10-$12. Stop being dramatic saying the market supports $17. Probably less that 10% of the burritos sell have enough add ons to cost $17

Chipotle burritos cost $17 because the market supports $17 burritos If everyone said, I'm not paying $17 for a burrito, fuck that, Chipotle burritos wouldn't cost $17. Chipotle burritos cost me $0.00. Do you know why? I choose not to purchase them. Is this clocking at all?
