Sorry, but this VOLUNTARY label is so deceptive What this label does is it continues to stack the burden of proof of paperwork, segregation protocols, etc onto the small producer. It’s just another marketing ploy that is already available to them (we’ve been using USA claims for years) What needs to happen is that the burden of proof needs to shift to the regulators (USDA FSIS) who are ALREADY legally required and ALREADY paid by the taxpayers to MANDATE transparency in Country of Origin in beef by the BigPackers who continue to manipulate transparency and competition in the market When you walk into the grocery store and buy produce, you see a MANDATED COUNTRY OF ORIGIN LABEL: Product of XYZ Country There is NO EXCUSE for this not to be the case for beef, especially when Republicans control both the Executive and Legislative Branches The only excuse is that the Administration and Congress can continue cow towing to BigPackers
