It has been an honor to serve Miami Beach as Interim City Manager over the past few months. Thank you to the Mayor & City Commission for entrusting me with this opportunity. I wish my colleague Eric Carpenter the best of luck as he takes on the role of City Manager.

It is my absolute honor to appoint Digna Abello as @MiamiBeachFire Chief — making her Miami-Dade County’s first female fire chief. You are an incredible firefighter and an outstanding leader. We are proud to have you serving our city. Congratulations. ❤️

Honored to join the @LncolnRd BID, our Mayor & City Commission, and members of our Black Affairs Advisory Committee to celebrate Juneteenth with a beautiful performance of “Miami Dance Heat Wave” by @PeterLondonGDC dancers on Lincoln Road this evening.

May we all take the time today to celebrate freedom and opportunity for all, while marking the anniversary of the day the last enslaved people in the U.S. learned they were free.

I am filled with gratitude on this Memorial Day as we remember those who have bravely served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice. 🇺🇸 I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our hardworking city staff members for serving our Miami Beach community.

Senior staff members gathered this morning for our last Memorial Day weekend briefing ahead of the @AirAndSeaShow. All of our departments are working tirelessly to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend for our residents and visitors.

Thrilled to be back at City Hall in our newly-renovated Commission Chambers for today’s City Commission meeting. It looks beautiful. I also want to congratulate Ricardo J. Dopico on being appointed City Attorney and thank @GloriaEstefan & @EmilioEstefanJr for swearing him in.

Happy Mother’s Day! Thank you to every mom and mother-figure for all that you do. You are truly an inspiration. 💗

This morning we gathered in front of @MiamiBeachPD Headquarters to formally honor the Miami Beach police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice and lost their lives in the line of duty. We are forever grateful for their bravery.

Today I had the honor of welcoming the incredible women to @MiamiBeachPD’s Women in Blue Symposium for aspiring female law enforcement professionals. MBPD already has amazing ladies serving our community, and we are excited to recruit new officers and staff to join the team.

Thank you to our Environment & Sustainabilty department, @MBBGarden and the Miami Beach Garden Club for hosting a beautiful celebration in honor of Arbor Day. Today serves as a reminder of the importance of working with our community to continue growing our city’s tree canopy.

It was a joy to host dozens of our employees’ children, including my own, for Take Your Child To Work Day! The kids spent the day at City Hall for some fun activities organized by our HR and Parks departments and watched demonstrations from @MiamiBeachFire and @MiamiBeachPD.

Sending warm wishes to all of our residents and visitors who are celebrating Passover. May you have a joyful holiday spent with loved ones.
