While countries like #Venezuela and #SaudiArabia have the largest "proven reserves" in the ground (lasting decades or centuries at current production rates), the "days left" typically refers to Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR)—accessible oil already extracted and stored for immediate emergency use. There are approximately 1.77 trillion barrels of proven oil reserves globally as of 2025, which would last roughly 47 years at current consumption levels
