Not to beat a dead horse, but the idea that @joerogan is just a regular guy having casual chats is misleading. He knows he hosts the biggest podcast on earth. He knows his clips are shared and debated to death. He and his guests know he’s a kingmaker: careers have been launched from that guest chair.
Yes, he’s a regular guy in that he doesn’t have the time or background to deeply research every topic. That’s part of his appeal: he sounds like one of us. His reactions feel honest and instinctive. They’re how we react to news.
But too often, it excuses one-sided conversations on important topics that deserve more depth. And Joe knows it. At some point, reach and influence demand more than just gut reactions. If you’re shaping public opinion on such a wide scale, coasting on vibes and letting guests meander without pushback just isn’t enough.
