Can talks between the #SouthSudan-ese government and holdout rebel groups bring peace? Activist @awolich just told Newsday he's cautiously optimistic - but rebel movements mustn't simply be rewarded with jobs, instead real change is needed.

@atongatem A soldier earns a minimum of 1500ssp as a monthly salary. However, these civil servants only get about three to four salaries a year. Ask your family members working in civil service as low grade employees how much is their salary and when did they last have a salary?

@Gai_antipas How many teachers like your brother earn 50,000ssp? How many teachers work for private schools? How many haven’t had their salaries for the past 5 Months. Last week teachers in Bor protested the delay of 5 month salary arrears, your brother is among the privileged few #SSOT

1kg of beef 4000ssp, 1 kg of goat meat is 5000ssp. A soldier earns 1500-2000ssp, a teacher earns 2500-3000ssp. Even if you save for the entire month, you cannot afford to buy a kilo of meat. #SSOT have your say 4/4
