I don’t know if the Jazz would’ve tanked this year if they’d gotten Cooper Flagg. By making tanking less valuable the NBA incentivized the Jazz to do it longer. The goal is to make bad teams better as quickly as possible not moralize over the reasons why they’re bad.

Oh we all totally trust this guy to be fair with punishments lol. The fact he went after Indiana and Utah and has been apathetic towards the Kawhi stuff is all I need to know. Don't give this guy any more power please.

If a team, under the new rules, was still found by Adam Silver’s office to be tanking, he would be able to take away that team’s draft pick, move it to the end of the lottery or first round and also increase fines into the millions of dollars, per @joevardon (h/t @APH00PS)

@McCadeP8 Look at what happened to expansion teams when they weren’t allowed to draft a top guy. Vancouver failed because of the league not wanting it to succeed.

You already aren’t giving the teams needing the top picks enough talent, now you’re gonna give the bottom team…..the 8th pick instead of currently the 4th pick?

The NBA presented three comprehensive anti-tanking concepts to its Board of Governors on Wednesday, with modifications expected to each before a formal vote in May, per ESPN sources. 1. 18 teams in draft lottery (seeds 7-15 in each conference) – flattened odds, with bottom 10 teams having an 8% chance, the remaining 20% odds distributed in decreasing order for 11 through 18, and and a lottery drawing for all 18 picks. 2) 22 teams in lottery using 2-year record (seeds 7-15, plus the four playoff first round exits in both conferences). Lottery teams would reach a minimum win total floor in each season, such as 25 wins. If a team falls short of the floor, it gets slotted to meet the floor. Top 4 drawn as part of lottery, as is currently. 3) 18 teams in a "5 by 5" lottery – bottom 5 teams have equal odds for the top pick, with lottery formed for picks 1-5. Bottom 5 teams have a floor at 10; those that fall out of top 5 get sorted in a separate drawing.

We are very fortunate this is the last season of tanking for the Jazz. These reforms actually help them. I just think they are so stupid. Imagine being the Kings for example. If they don't win the lottery this year they are HOSED.

Yeah Rudy top 3 defender ever, Bill Russell/Dikembe/Ben Wallace could never stick the perimeter like this on a top 3 scorer ever .

I remain of the belief that this lineup 👇 is too heavy an offensive workload for Key... would love to grab a two-way point and move Key to his natural position. Flemings is a clean fit and you get him on a rookie deal but I'd also poke around on moving LM for a guy like Suggs

He can dunk and shoot threes, which is awesome. Some of the other stuff in between still looks rough. Imagine he'll spend all summer working on his handle. Hope he's a gym rat and he doesn't leave Key's side all summer haha.

So I am at the Jazz game tonight since it’s the game my son got tickets to for his Jr Jazz team. All I have to say is, this is such bad 🏀. Not just the Jazz in general, who are bad, really bad; but the NBA overall is bad. I remember when games used to exciting & must watch TV.

All four guys that went ahead of him are significantly better. Several guys behind him are also having better seasons.

@Chase_Swartz3 AJ was worth the money. That’s the first time BYU has recruited a one and done of his caliber. He had a good experience which means down the road BYU could get another top prospect. Kansas probably didn’t get their money’s worth out of DP

@megamosse @JazzLead I hope you’re right, Keyonte and Ace reaching their ceilings is exactly what the doctor ordered for this Jazz rebuild. I love the leadership qualities Keyonte has shown. His body language and attitude has taken a leap.
