Mets fans crucified the team for not signing Snell, who’s pitched a total of just 64 innings across 2025-26, but they won’t mention him now because it doesn’t fit their narrative. 🥱 #lgm

Lost in all the hoopla of the new baby Mets was that both Brett Baty, who tied the game with the two run HR to make it it 3-3, and Mark Vientos, whose two-run shot made it 6-3, are starting to get comfortable at the plate. Call me crazy, but playing the same position every day seems to agree with them.

@Jolly_Olive Love the patience and bat to ball skills going to make for a perfect leadoff hitter. Not sure we should put that pressure on him right away but it’s tempting

Maybe if your team performed just an ounce to its expectation, those questions wouldn’t be constantly asked It’s not like the Mets have been arguably the worst team in baseball for a calendar year or anything……. (they have).

"I've been very clear and consistent that I think Mendy does a really good job. I believe Mendy does a really good job. I like coming to work with him every day. I'm not going to address this every two weeks when I talk to you guys and I'll leave it at that." - David Stearns on Carlos Mendoza

Listening to Michael Kay spew the same narrative about Alonso at first base is lazy. Girardi gets it. Pete Alonso just made an extremely difficult play and got the out before the runner scored. It doesn't have to look pretty, It has to be effective.

George Kamel explains $100,000/year is enough to raise 4 kids in a high-cost-of-living area👀 “Let’s say a high-cost-of-living area… $100,000. Because if you do the math on that, you’re talking $6,000 a month probably coming in, maybe $5,000 if you’re in high-tax California. And you have a reasonable mortgage that’s $2,000 a month. You’ve got $3,000 a month to play with to cover food, utilities, insurance, a little bit of fun money...”

The Giants are “reportedly” looking to offload the contract of Rafael Devers, per @BNightengale THOUGHTS: The Mets should at least make an effort and see what the current asking price is. It’ll likely cost very little prospect depth just to add Devers.

As bad as things have been for the Mets, if they went on to ultimately sell at deadline I would think they net 12+ prospects. I certainly wont proclaim them all to be top 5 in the teams systems but they could get a haul.

.@JonHeyman says Pete Alonso wasn’t thrilled with how negotiations were going, and during a meeting at his Tampa club with Steve Cohen and David Stearns, he made that clear. “Swinging for the fences, Alonso told Stearn’s, “When my career is being evaluated for the Hall of Fame years from now, you’ll still be fiddling with your [flipping] formulas.” Only he didn’t say “flipping.” Alonso also argued he’s using analytics and biomechanics to get back to his best — points aimed at appealing to someone like Stearns. But that one comment stood out most. Alonso also wasn’t in the strongest negotiating position, given his desire to stay with the Mets despite outside interest from Toronto.”
