Since we're once again comparing #prostitution to retail jobs, it doesn't hurt to have a list of disproportionate physical risks of being in the sex trade. This is not to shame women in it or to suggest women's bodies are "broken", but to highlight why these comparisons lag.

Why can’t people join the dots?
Women are not mentally ill after pregnancy and birth, they are traumatised, scared, frustrated and tired for so many different reasons that we refuse to validate or listen to, and instead we tell them that it’s an illness.

@AshCurryOcd Maybe it’s wrong, maybe women suddenly being traumatised after pregnancy and birth, and becoming a new mum is totally normal and to be expected - but we pathologise it because of gender role stereotypes? Takes literally 30 seconds to dismantle the medical model.

This is abhorrant. I knew Shamima, I was a teacher in her school. She was a child who was effectively groomed. She is a British citizen and it is shocking that citizenship can be so easily stripped away. She deserves our pity and our help, not our scorn.
