What just happened in my work facility is the exact reason why many people would come to the hospital regardless of how urgent their health condition is, they must get the hospital card, pay certain fee as stipulated by the hospital’s policy before any treatment begins. Because, tell me why you came in dyspneic and in a very poor state, you were asked to open a card for proper documentation and consultation, but because nobody was with you and also you have no money on you, you pleaded and we had compassion and listened. Emergency medical service activated, medications gotten from pharmacy on credit in our name, and supplemental oxygen commenced. After 12hrs you got way much better and able to bounce back on your feet. We asked you how far? You came up with the promise that your spouse is coming and you’re expecting money from someone. We believed you and were patiently waiting on your promise. All these while you were buying foods but never thought of paying a penny. 24hrs later you absconded, when you felt that nobody was watching. You gained the trust of the doctors and nurses, they took care of you but you ended up betraying that trust. And now the management is on their neck, they’re blamed for your actions and are to pay your debts.
