Your apology is about you - desperate not be cancelled by @SkyNews and @TimesRadio for your inhumane, insensitive and depraved misogynisric commentary. You fear becoming irrelevant and will say anything in order to stop that happening. You are a fake and we see you. You have lowered the standards not only of all broadcasters and journalism everywhere but of what is deemed acceptable narrative in a civil society when someone dies. No channel should ever use you again. Focusing on her supposed virginity as if that was what defined her? You are a sick man.
Adam Boulton@adamboultonTABB

AN APOLOGY I was seriously wrong and insensitive in one of the several media appearances I made yesterday in reaction to the death of Ann Widdecombe. I got the timing and tone of my initial word portrait of her wrong. Of course I shared, and share, the horror at her murder and the respect for her remarkable and feisty political career. I also know that many people loved her for her subsequent showbiz stardom. Her untimely death is a horrible thing. My mistaken view was that in the context of rolling news coverage, I was being asked to contribute as an obituarist who has known her and interacted with her since the 1980s. This approach was premature. At no point was I expressing my personal feelings about her, that's not what I do. I was discussing her life in the round, based on the record of known facts and what she has said about herself, along with some recollections of our personal interactions. My choice of words on the spur of the moment was clumsy. I did not intend to offend though obviously I did.

The UK last built a public water reservoir in 1992. The population has increased by over 10 million in the intervening years. Including a surge of immigration. Now, the state has the cheek to announce a hosepipe ban. Why is that necessary? Because no infrastructure has been built to cope with the expanding population. It rained for the whole of January but not enough reservoirs to catch the water. Our governments have been absolutely and unrelentingly crap. Short-termist. Only interested in importing cheap labour. Not a care for the people who live here and want things to work as they do in a civilized country. The next reservoir, in Havant, is not scheduled for completion till the early 2030s. Prepare for more hosepipe bans and collapsing sewers. Britain urgently needs an effective ruling class before we slide into a failed state.

Ann Widdecombe has possibly been murdered, and @SkyNews thinks it’s appropriate to have a man discussing whether she was a virgin. Why would whether a woman had ever had penetrative sex be relevant to her possible murder? He then went on to speculate, on mainstream media, that it was a robbery gone wrong rather than politically motivated. That may ultimately prove to be the case, but speculation about motive before the facts are established has no place in responsible news coverage. The first instinct when discussing a woman who may have been murdered should never be to reduce her to her sexual history. Ann Widdecombe deserved better. Every woman deserves better.

Yes, she did believe that. And the truth is that, until about 12 years ago, it was also the general view of most people in society (and still happens to be the view of the established church in this country today). Disagree with it, by all means. But to present it as some kind of extremist opinion is plainly ridiculous.

"This is a gimmick" from a man who is only an MP cos he forced a by-elction when one not needed, all to force an internal LP coup to dump one prime minister & allow his own coronation. Now that is what I call a gimmick.

Andy Burnham spokesman: "This is a gimmick designed to distract from serious allegations about Farage's funders. What really matters in politics is how we can change Westminster to take power for communities and take it back to people to make life more affordable for them."

If Farage had a majority of only 500 and Reform were performing poorly in the national opinion polls, would the major parties have boycotted the byelection? Of course not. They would have gone all-in to win the seat. Everyone knows it.

SKY News used to make me cry daily when I first got banged up! The absolute bile and shite they were trotting out on the daily about the Tory Councillors wife and her family, like they were obsessed. I remember the day I put my plea in. I was via video link as I didn’t like going to court in those disgusting sweat boxes. The “courts” in Peterborough Jail were just down the corridor from the house block. By the time I had put my plea in ( took about a minute) walked back to the house-block ( another 2 mins) SLY News had plastered my photo all over the TV, with breaking news going along the bottom of the screen. Tory Councillors wife pleads GUILTY. Mate, I’m a childminder and mother, living in a 3 bed semi in Northamptonshire. What is the deal here? Honestly the reports etc they did on me, closely followed by the BBC were disgraceful. All done to try and cause as much distress and damage to me and my family as possible. Absolute SCUM.

No byelection is "fake" or a "game" or a "gimmick", regardless of the circumstances in which it was called. A byelection is always a chance for parties to make their case and have their candidate returned as an MP. To refuse to engage with that process because you don't like the manner in which the election came about is to show contempt for the democratic process.

Calling Them Out. So the political establishment and media have consistently labelled Nigel as being a divisive out of touch figure. They play every card possible to assassinate his character and that of everyone involved with Reform UK. You can feel the hatred with the House of Commons towards not just Nigel but all Reform UK MPs. That does not bother us one bit as we know millions of people in the real world support us and what we stand for. The establishment are bullies that attack and attack but when the tables are turned they run away. Nigel has thrown down the gauntlet and told the other parties that he will meet them at the ballot box and every one of them has bottled it. We see you for the cowards you are. We are coming for all of you at every single ballot box in the country. Reform UK are the last hope to save our country from you treacherous cowards.

The footage circulating online shows a young white man being attacked and then arrested. It’s baffling that he was arrested while the two black men who attacked him weren’t. If there’s additional footage that explains why the officer acted as she did it should be shared immediately to clear things up. Otherwise the public will rightly question the clear unequal treatment by your officer. And why you describe the incident as a ‘fight’ in your statement when the footage shows only one person being attacked. This wouldn’t be a one off incident either. We saw two-tier policing by Hampshire Police when they came to the scene of Henry Nowak. We saw it for decades across the county with the Grooming Gangs that went unpunished. The police have lost the benefit of the doubt in the eyes of many. They’ve had enough. They need a much better explanation than this if they are to trust you again.
Birmingham Police@BrumPolice

We are aware of footage showing the arrest of a man after a disorder on Broad Street at 1.30am on 21 June. Officers found a group of men fighting. As the incident was dealt with, an officer was punched. One man was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer.

🚨 If you are a white person in Britain and you get assaulted by ethnic minority men: The police watch on and wait until you are on the floor before moving in to arrest YOU. The police make no attempt to arrest your assailants, letting them run off without consequence. The police call you a “dick”. The police hit your head against the police car. The police then put a statement out claiming they are satisfied with the conduct of the officers. The police demand the footage proving their statement to be false not be shared. All because the Police ‘Race Action Plan’ demands officers do not “over police” black people. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The Tories introduced these disgusting programs to force police to be institutionally racist against white people. Labour continues them. Reform will ABOLISH all Race Action Plans and ensure EVERYONE IS TREATED EQUALLY.
