Six years after a fire caused extensive damage to the venue, Glasgow's former ABC Regal Cinema on Sauchiehall Street looks set to be demolished. However the classical arch (by Charles J. McNair, 1929) survives intact and should be retained as part of the proposed new development. Glasgow: Don't make the same mistake as Liverpool and the appalling loss of The Futurist Cinema - when it's gone, it's gone for good.

Who remembers Glasgow 1990 City of Culture? It was a redefining time for the city. Every tenement was being sandblasted & we had the amazing “Big Day” music event. We were shaking off the No Mean City reputation! I found this in my mum’s belongings! Apt in 2024 too! #glasgow
