Last year was rough for federal employees.
Buyouts (deferred resignation), early retirement and contracts terminated happened across all agencies. We finally know what that looked like at Cleveland's NASA Glenn Research Center --- roughly 611 people gone

During his visit to @NASAglenn, @NASAAdmin talked about the return to the moon (and building a base there), going to Mars (in our lifetime!), and how crucial NASA Glenn's role in propulsion and nuclear power are in making that happen.

Cuyahoga County is poised to become the first county in the nation to install two-factor authentication for its recorded documents, in an effort to prevent fraudulent property transfers. It's an attempt to fight a problem @ClayLePard has been digging into. news5cleveland.com/news/local-new…

@DonnyMac1 Great question! Cuyahoga Co has similar property alerts ..but this would be the first instance where you would receive an alert *before* a property is transferred (as opposed to getting an alert after) and have the ability to immediately stop it before it happens.
English

@ClayLePard Not sure if this is the exact same thing you reported on, but Maricopa County in Arizona has had this property alert for a couple of years. So was Cuyahoga County really the first? recorder.maricopa.gov/recording/titl…

I love this story from @ClayLePard about a local librarian who's on a quest to collect cards from all of Ohio's 251 public library systems. She has 189 so far. news5cleveland.com/news/local-new…

State lawmakers’ decision to take unclaimed funds to provide a $600 million grant for a new Cleveland Browns stadium opened the floodgates. Ohio’s Division of Unclaimed Funds is seeing a record level of claims. @ClayLePard has the details. news5cleveland.com/news/unclaimed…

But claiming that money in Ohio isn’t always so simple - even when the rightful owner is a local fire department (or another public-sector entity). "I think the Ohio unclaimed fund system needs some attention," one assistant fire chief tells @ClayLePard. news5cleveland.com/news/unclaimed…

We also talked with the head of unclaimed funds about what happened after the legislature announced plans in June to use $600 million to fund a new @Browns stadium.
Turns out —- a LOT of you filed claims after that.
How much? Check it out here:

It’s not just Ohioans with unclaimed funds - entities like municipalities, police and fire departments do as well.
And they say they’ve encountered difficult hurdles claiming their share of the states $4.9 billion in unclaimed funds.
