@TheCinesthetic He didn’t understand Mike Mignola’s world AT ALL and made two films that are Hellboy in name only. I can’t stand how people think they’re so comic accurate but the characters act nothing like they do in the comics. Just a huge waste.

Hellboy (2004) shows how well Guillermo del Toro understood Mike Mignola’s world. The film leans heavily on practical creatures, makeup, and sets, then layers CGI on top just enough to enhance the fantasy.

On Friday, my mom went to the ER for severe abdominal pain, which turned out to be a highly damaged, ruptured appendix. She's since undergone surgery to remove it, and -- particularly when you consider she's 75! -- she's doing great. I know a lot of the LSM audience loves her (and she loves you guys), so I felt like you should know. These were a scary few days, all things considered. <3 (Here's a picture of us more in our element.)
