The Republican 10-year moratorium on state AI regulation won’t lead to an AI Golden Age. It will lead to a Dark Age for the environment, our children, and marginalized communities.

@adamconner And, as might be expected, this DOES NOT preempt if a state or local regulation is designed to facilitate or streamline AI deployment. Even if it is stripped here, betting we will see this language again.

For example - annoying to #FCC geeks like me - I haven't been able to search by FCC number in at least a month. (FCC number = unique number assigned to any FCC decision, not the docket number and a handy shortcut to obtain a ruling available via FCC's EDOCS.)

The @FCC website is down (again) this morning. It has not been working correctly, off and on, for weeks.

Today is @unitedchurch's #RacialJusticeSunday, and we're honoring the legacy of our founder, the Reverend Dr. Everett C. Parker. His work was centered around ensuring media served the civil rights movement for racial justice.

But, of course, not the only legitimate complaint with facts and evidence on its side.

In what will, unfortunately, likely be just another of the shocking but not surprising action by this @FCC, the rulings last week to protect broadcasters from undue government pressure were just revoked.
