@ClearPresentWai I like it. I am starting to now realize in my sixth decade that there is only 24 hours in the day. I must succumb to the temptation to build everything.

I need a chop saw station.
Do I make? or buy?
There is an auction going off nearby next week. Some pretty nice benches. This would fit perfect in the spot.
Current bid $5. It will go up, but the auction is 3 days before the holiday and there are an unusual large number of benches being auctioned. Low interest?
I have a few days to mull it over.

@CollinRugg They should make two of these and run the funniest social experiment ever.

Plans released for a $16 billion mile-long ship capable of carrying 80,000 people.
The 'Freedom Ship' would be home to about 50,000 people, with space for 10,000 tourists and 20,000 crew members.
"The Freedom Ship is envisioned as a permanently mobile city at sea designed for long-term residence rather than short-term travel," the company says.
The ship would be about 8 times the size of the current largest ship in the world, the Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas.
The plans include a 15,000-seat stadium, schools, colleges, shops, clubs, a water park, a music hall, museums, parks, and more.
The ship, which would run on nuclear, would be too large to dock and would remain in international waters.
Freedom Cruise International says it would go around the world every two to three years.
Insane.

during my salad days (read: no money to pay the owner), I came across a guy in a woodworking fb group asking if anyone knew where he could buy bulk wood screws and casters cheaper than Home Depot…
It seemed like a weird request so I DM’d him and asked about it, and he said he was a SAHM dad who cleared about $5-6k per month making workbenches in his garage after his kids went to bed: all sales via FB marketplace.
Design was pretty simple - 2x4 legs, frame, and 3/4” CDX ply top and shelf. He said he’d sell for $300-500 (size depending), and was about $100 into each table (ex labor).
Intrigued, I asked if I could Venmo him $50 for a bunch of pictures (he said yes): I created my own FB listing, asking ~$400 per table ($300 profit), and the orders started rolling in.
For about a year and half, I’d make and sell 10-20 tables a month out of my garage. I got so i could finish a table in 30 minutes, not including time spent grabbing materials or back and forth on Messenger.
If you can do math, that’s $5,000-8,000/per month in “table profits”. I suppose if I was better at doing my day job, it wouldn’t have been necessary - but we do what we need to do to survive.
You can just do things.

Clavicular walks out of 60 Minutes interview after being asked if he is an incel and about his relationship with Andrew Tate.
Clavicular: “Do I identify as an Incel? I mean, how could you ask me that question as a follow up after you asked me about my relationships to women. I mean, that's quite literally the worst sequence of questions I think I've ever heard.”
60 Minutes: “Let me rephrase then. Looksmaxxing was obviously a term created by the Incel community. How do you feel about being linked to that group.”
Clavicular: “I'm not linked to that group in any way. Looksmaxxing is self improvement, right? So it's about potentially even ascending out of that category. So that would be kind of one of the goals is to disassociate from being an incel and overcome that. So that doesn't make sense.”
60 Minutes: “You've been seen with certain people who are from all parts of that world. I mean, just as an example, you've obviously shared company with Andrew Tate and other, dare I say, rather controversial figures. Why do you spend time with people like that?”
Clavicular: “I see you want to make this political… I guess you watched the Piers Interview. too bad I didn't have time to look into, you know, anything about potentially, you know who your wife cheated with.”
60 Minutes: “I’m not married Clav.”
Clavicular: “So I could teach you about looksmaxxing, and then maybe you could switch that up. Thanks for the time, appreciate the interview.”

the alysa liu vs eileen gu attractiveness discourse is the cleanest rorschach test for male insecurity i've seen in years the answer is obvious, but your pick says more about you than about either of them

@BreatheLesss I read it and liked it initially. My mom picked it up and read a few pages and said “this is a bad book I don’t want you reading this” which she’s never said before. He did fall in love with his own thoughts and it cost him his sanity if I recall correctly.

If you've read this book, reply with a few personal insights. I want to see something.
