In #Canada, 147 women & girls will not celebrate #IWD2026. They were killed, mostly by men. As we celebrate our accomplishments on March 8, remember much work is still to be done. Next year, let's work to have fewer women & girls that we must remember. #CallItFemicide

@CAN_Femicide I hate the nurder suicide headlines. Man murders woman. The fact is his decision to murder then be a coward by not taking responsibility for that choice and killing himself.

Would Sally Challlen have been protected if she understood her experience as coercive control and there was a law at the time? With professionals who were trained by experts - possibly. However. most are still not trained in 2026. The government voted down our amendment for mandatory training when we changed the law. Yet it’s funny how the law miraculously works well when the defendant is a woman, eh? Also, we drafted the law to include a max 10 year sentence. Government lawyers changed it to 5 years 💣 ✅ Join Sally’s amazing son @davidchallen and I for this not to be missed conversation now available in the Crime Analyst Squad: patreon.com/CrimeAnalyst ✅ READ David’s book, The Unthinkable: A Story of Control, Violence and My Mother. A must read for everyone wanting to understand coercive control and the insidious, long lasting harm inflicted on children and women. Now out on paperback 📕 #DavidChallen #SallyChallen #CoerciveControl #Prison #CrimeAnalyst @laurarichards99

Coercive control does not happen all at once. It happens quietly. Through monitoring, isolation, financial restriction, and fear. Over time, a person’s world becomes smaller until they feel trapped inside an invisible box. This is why coercive control is so difficult to identify and even harder to prove. Survivors may struggle to name it. Friends, family, and systems often miss it. Canada is beginning to acknowledge this reality. Recent Criminal Code reforms recognize that abuse is often a pattern, not a single incident. This video does an extraordinary job of showing what words and legal definitions often fail to capture.

This bothers me to my core like so many of the dark revelations in Virginia Giuffre’s book, Nobody’s Girl. I understand the title - a sweet, beautiful girl who was abused from the age of seven by those who should have loved and cared for her. Virginia deserved so much better. She was a vulnerable child and an easy target for Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein. All of the men who abused Virginia are culpable and must be prosecuted. I feel rage. Maxwell is in prison - where she must remain - but what about all the diabolical men? They must pay for what they did 🤬🖤💀💣 #VirginiaGiuffre #RIP #NobodysGirl #JeffreyEpstein #GhislaineMaxwell #Andrew #Abusers #Facts #Evidence #Behaviour #CrimeAnalyst #Expert #WhatAboutTheMen #Grooming #Manipulation #CoerciveControl #trafficking @laurarichards99
