Well this is both hilarious… and depressing at the same time. Trump’s Interior Secretary just discovered that the sun sets at night… Doug Burgum said: “When the sun goes down, solar panels produce zero electricity. The whole machine doesn't work.” Then, Rep. Jared Huffman literally held a battery up and said: “I request to enter into the record this amazing new technology that apparently the Secretary is unaware of. It’s a battery.” Then Huffman added that China has figured it out, “that’s why they are cleaning our clock on clean energy.” Energy storage exists. Grid-scale batteries exist. Entire countries are building them at scale right now. But, here we are, still debating whether solar panels stop working when the sun sets. At some point it stops being a policy disagreement and starts feeling like we’re arguing with reality itself.

@MichaelAArouet The oft counter from Europeans is simply 1) we don't have to work as hard, 2) health care costs are far better, 2) we live 2-3 years longer. They have a legit point on #2. I could care less about 1 and 3. I like to work, and I control my own health. God decides when I die.

The issue with countries like Canada, Britain, France or Germany is that they are still fairly wealthy. People there don’t realize how prosperous they could be if they followed the US model with free markets, innovation, progress and growth, instead of populist left narratives.

@davidhudnall Downtown will enjoy major uptick in business. It's the surrounding areas that presumed there would be a massive overflow, but the reality seems to be that travelers will want to be in city center, not out in Lenexa or Olathe, and the like. Unfortunate for those areas of course.
