Defense is exceptionally hard to play in the NBA due to the space guys have to cover, the rules, etc.
That does not mean NBA players don't defend or that defense is not important. There is a reason the top-5 defenses in the NBA right now are the five teams with the most wins.

Yes. Absolutely zero question that the answer is yes. And the most obvious proof is Bruce Branch III committing to BYU.
Dybantsa playing at BYU and having the season he had is going to pay so many long-term dividends for BYU even if the Saunders injury cratered this season.

BYU paid $7 million to AJ Dybantsa. He led the nation in scoring. Cool. They finished 10th in the Big 12 and were a 6-seed in the NCAA Tournament after losing a key guard to injury. They lost to an 11-seed Texas team that finished 10th in the SEC. Is that NIL $ well spent?
