This take is the most inane conclusion. Look at the video. He is falling forward on the play. He’s breaking his fall so most of his force is being applied through his arms and upper body. He roles his left leg / knee to the side. This is all natural motion. If he tried to intentionally hit Love in the ribs, you’d see his left knee driving with some force. He doesn’t because all of his force/momentum is going forward to break his fall.

The knee to the ribs from Stanford LB Wilfredo Aybar on Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love was late and didn’t look natural. Intentional? We’ll never know. But this probably cost Love his chance to win the Heisman Trophy.
