Imagine: - a comet is detected which will pass near the Earth, but not threaten it - it is rich in hydrocarbons, so Big Hydrocarbon comes up with a way of mining it - astrophysicists warn that will likely change the comet's orbit so it will intersect with the Earth 1/2

@TobyArnott2B @ChrisMartzWX Considering that C02's effectiveness as a greenhouse gas decreases logarithmically, why does additional atmospheric C02 pose such an extinction level threat? Humans are the most adaptable animal species evolved to date. We can eat anything and live anywhere.

@postcarbonsteve I have no idea what this is about but if they intend on building on that land that looks like it’s practically underwater then the people there should be helped to get to higher ground and the land need to be left alone. Is that a wall in the picture?

Though I was secretly hoping to see headlines like "Climate scientists discover Mauna Loa sensors placed next to hitherto unnoticed dry ice factory, E-car tyre dust reverse coral bleaching".

'K, so I took a break of about 3 months from Climate Doom Twitter (mental health and all that), and diving back in, it's ratcheted up a notch or two. Which is about what I imagined it would be like.

Norway, Switzerland and Iceland are part of the Schengen Area (left). Ireland is part of the EU (right). You have to go as far as Serbia (over 1,300 miles) to find the next country without the benefit of free movement. We are literally alone in our isolation. Thanks, Brexit!

@ProfBillMcGuire @UKLabour Give the man a break, he's only had 14 years to realize that being part of the "Leopards Will Eat Your Face Party" will result in your face being eaten by actual leopards, so now is a good time to advise the "Leopards Might Not Eat Your Face Party" on predator facial consumption.

@ClimateScmNinja @HumansOverShot Oh no I’m just objecting to the part that attempts to legitimize envirofascist big government. Let me guess are you from the UK and love deepthroating jackboots even as your country commits suicide?
