If Chelsea were a little better , we would have easily for the champions league, from Manchester United to Aston to Liverpool down to Brentford and Bournemouth, no team has really laid a mark to be too good to play against. The only difference is that Chelsea are the worst among all of them. Easiest champions league qualification we could have had in a long while

@MrBuzaije @tobyasky They won't, that team made me run from one viewing center to another because they were leading Man City 2-0 they conceded 1 before I got there another immediately I got there and made me witness aguero putting that last goal in. Na league two be their permanent place

The major risk that comes with relegation is that, you may not rise again, or it’ll take ages before you rise. Coventry relegated from the premier league in 2001. In that time, they’ve almost relegated to non league😭. They played championship, relegated to league one, relegated to league two, imagine they also relegated to non league football😅. If Millwall promotes, it’ll be their first time since 1990. There are clubs like Wimbledon, Sheffield Wednesday who were household names in the premier league, they’re both in League One now. I mean, Wigan won the FA cup over a decade ago, where are they? Not even in the championship (I miss my guy Rodallega though). Same with Bolton Wanderers, Reading (my guy Sidwell😞), Huddersfield, Blackpool (Charlie Adam’s sweet left foot), these teams are wallowing in the lower divisions. More recently, there’s been Watford, Norwich, Portsmouth, West Brom, Birmingham City, Swansea, QPR, Blackburn (sexy footballer David Bentley), etc., this is a major risk when you relegate, it could go worse from there. First thing that happens when you relegate is that you lose your best players. Those guys don’t want to play in the lower leagues with probably reduced wages and lesser visibility, these guys are internationals, so they leave. All of a sudden, you struggle to come back because you now have same level of players with Bristol City😭 Luton relegated from premier league and subsequently relegated to league one, same with Leicester now, it becomes difficult. Similar thing happened to Sunderland, they also relegated from championship to league one, but thank God they’re back after so many years out. There are clubs that have also mastered the art of promoting immediately to the premier league after relegation. Clubs like Burnley, but these are outliers. Just try as much as possible never to relegate, else VAR won’t save you in the proper shithouse football you’ll meet in the lower divisions.

Nigerians in the US are the most lowkey people on X. They don't have any community on here, they are not involved in any dramas, you will not see them set up ring light, they just drink water, scroll the timeline and mind their business.

you hand me ₦1M today as a retail investor on the NGX, I’m not locking it in land, and I’m not going all-in on crypto. I’m putting it to work in listed equities + a bit of liquidity. Mindset: At ₦1M, you don’t need preservation, you need velocity. Land is for capital preservation. Crypto is for speculation. NGX (done right) gives you cash flow + compounding + flexibility. I’m not trying to “own something”, I’m trying to grow something.
Dunni@Dunni226245

If you were given ₦1M today, would you invest in land, crypto, or business? Why?

@BrianFeroldi Exactly! People treat investing as a get rich scheme. Buy when the hype is there, panic sell when the market drops. No patience, just looking to buy and make 100% in 2 months. They end up burning their money.

One of the reasons I don’t argue this pay issues is bcos Nigerians will never agree . You can never earn the salary of someone in SF with you being in ibadan. There are so many factors to consider.

@tosinolaseinde Well, in a low income/poor society, it's difficult to eliminate the gambling spirit. People are just looking for ways to double their small money instead of thinking of long term. Then they end up losing it anyways.

We need to start making them feel uncomfortable about promoting betting. The nature of our work exposes us to the people whose lives have been ruined. People have lost jobs, family, livelihood etc. Say no to betting. Make betting uncool.

You people will come on this app and confidently mislead people on something you have zero knowledge about. Buying Dangote Refinery shares with a 150k salary will not take anyone out of the trenches. NGX is not a meme coin. Dangote Refinery is currently preparing for its IPO with an estimated valuation of *$40 Billion to $50 Billion**. In Naira, that is over 60 TRILLION Naira. You are telling a guy who earns 150k a month to use 7k to buy a microscopic fraction of a 60 Trillion Naira asset and expect it to magically pay his house rent in a few years? If you earn between 100k and 250k, and you aggressively scrape 20k monthly to buy shares, you would have invested 240k by December. Even if the refinery does a miraculous 20% return, your profit for tying down your hard-earned survival money for 365 days is just 48k. That cannot even buy a half bag of rice today. Inflation will swallow that profit before the dividend is even paid. Let's even scale it up. Let's say you manage to invest a whole 1 Million Naira. A very solid 20% return gives you 200k profit in an ENTIRE YEAR. Is 200k after 12 months changing your life? No. Dangote Refinery stock are for WEALTH PRESERVATION, not poverty eradication. It is for the person sitting on 50m who wants to park heavy liquidity, hedge against inflation. It is NOT for Emeka who's eating from hand to mouth in this economy. If your income is small, take that 7k and use it to eat. 7k is not magically paying your house rent in 2030 because you bought dangote refinery stock.

Make I no talk.... I don't want to say a hard-core truth that will shatter a lot of people. Especially Salary earners. Even if I don't say it, they are already feeling the heat. One advice I will give to all salary earners, is that they should take serious advantage of Dangote Refinery shares that will soon be listed on the Nigeria Stock Exchange market this year July/August. Invest buy Dangote Refinery shares. A word is enough for the wise.

@GeovGreat @only1_jeffery @Chizitere_xyz To be honest, you don't even need to learn much to buy Index funds like S&P 500 but if you are looking for books to read, I'd recommend: 1. The Intelligent Investor by Banjamin Graham 2. Psycology of Money by Morgan Housel 3. A Random walk down wallstreet by Burton Malkiel

No, I don't teach it, I post sometimes here but not giving expect advise. It's really simple though, I live in US, so it's accessible to me. I think from Nigeria, you can use Bamboo App to access US stocks. For me I keep it simple and buy mostly S&P 500 (An Index of top 500 companies in the US) and maybe a few other top companies I am Interested in. You don't need any technical knowledge to buy Index funds. It gives you diversity in the market and minimizes risk. Also on a long run most stock pickers don't even beat the Index.
