@franklinleonard Look into Alexander Arnold-Trent who now plays for Real Madrid after playing for Liverpool for many years. Wouldn't like to play chess against him....

Just found out that Morocco’s 18 year old midfield phenom Ayyoub Bouaddi is getting an undergraduate mathematics degree and won a public speaking contest for students enrolled at French footballing academies, and now I may need to cop the shirt.

1. Each decade there’s stuff that you really can only do then. You can’t go back to high school now. When you’re 45 and rich, you can’t go to a grungy music festival and make out with a rando… find time to go to the music festival. 2. Put $100 a month into an investment account and forget about it. 3. Avoid things that could genuinely cause long term damage. Eg: plenty of dudes end up in a wheelchair because they jumped off a bridge into shallow water. 4. Find mentors who are 30-35 and inspire you. Do whatever you can to work directly with them. 5. Host dinner parties. Be the guy who Invites cool people together. 6. Move to a bigger city for a year. 7. Figure out what a really great week looks like and repeat it as the default.

IBM CEO Arvind Krishna think we're entering an AI bubble. Here's how he gets there: Over 100 gigawatts of AI data center capacity has been committed globally, at roughly $60 to $80 billion in semiconductor spend per gigawatt. That points to a $6 to $8 trillion buildout. For that to make economic sense with a 5 to 7 year payback at 20 to 30% margins, you'd need $1 to $2 trillion in new annual AI revenue above what exists today. He doesn't think that demand is coming on that timeline. The second problem he sees is model commoditization. The largest AI models will end up as commodities with low switching costs between them. His conclusion: the market is pricing for 6 to 12 large model companies surviving but the economics probably only support 2 or 3. Where the opportunity still exists: On the consumer side, the companies with existing distribution win. "Some will disappoint, many will thrive but not all will thrive."

I'm guessing: - Anthropic "agrees" to do something minor/performative bc the issue was overstated to begin with - this sort of allows the administration to "save face" (but not really) - Fable gets unblocked - and we just wasted another several days with ASI looming

If you manage to drive your platform even further in this direction as you did when you started to move Office++ onto the cloud, you will be unstoppable. A minor point - yes tech assets often are depreciative and non-compounding, but in wealth management though, they would beg to differ ;)

A major difference I see between Opus and Fable now that I had to go back is that Opus when working with large contexts are more than happy to juss deliver something it thinks to itself ".. I haven't reviewed everything I should etc., but this will look good enough, I will take a couple of guesses on these elements rather than go through everything. Who cares." While Fable would would be more toned what it was there to do, making sure it does it, and not judging whatever it delivered on being "flashy enough". I already miss Fable.

@markvalorian No. It destroys their valuation in front of their IPO and will have enterprise clients diversify a lot more away from them.

There's a scenario here where Anthropic intentionally baited the US into doing this... Think about what incredible marketing this is for them. *The US government* thought their product was so powerful they had to shut them down. As soon as they make Fable available again, the entire world is going to want to try it. This temporary disruption will pale in comparison to the tsunami of demand they will be hit with as soon as they open the gates again. As crazy as it may seem, this whole thing may be actually playing right into Anthropic's hands.

@bookwormengr Not just their IPO, but their adressable enterprise market if they are allowd back to serving non-us citizens too. All enterprises will now be diversifying more away from US providers for pure resilience if nothing else.

Anthropic IPO also has been kneecapped. If Anthropic can not offer the powerful models to rest of the world, this reduces their global market share by 75%. Is it then still a 1T USD market cap company??? Open source will already near Opus/Sonnet and will cross that tier soon...... While I duely respect safety concerns - this is very broad and is akin to throwing baby out with bathwater....the world is going to be split by model access.
