Respectfully, it never “came” in the first place
We got:
- jpeg casinos
- extractive token loops
- games that felt like spreadsheets with a jump button
- Play to earn lies
We got gambling with a controller, not Web3 Gaming
Lily Liu@calilyliu
Also, gaming on a blockchain is not coming back
English

@ratio_hunter_10 Yeah think a few teams are building focused on that atm
English

Solana base gas fees have always been too expensive to facilitate any real gaming functionality
Fogo on the other hand has that perfect blend of low block times & low gas - allowing you to build web2 gaming experiences utilizing the underlying chain
SolanaFloor@SolanaFloor
🚨JUST IN: Solana Foundation President @calilyliu says “gaming on a blockchain is not coming back.”
English

@barrett_io Some of the most popular games of all time are turn based :)
English

@CloakdDev only really ever played fps and fifa, forget there is other stuff in gaming lol
English

@barrett_io Yeah no one should be building an FPS on chain. Block propagation is fast enough for a tonne of other cases. 30-40ms response time is close enough with some UX magic
English

@CloakdDev yeah i don’t think that blockchain fixes those either
ping times aren’t solved by just throwing game onchain
English

@barrett_io Cheaper than building geo replication & edge nodes in most cases
English

@CloakdDev games don’t need to be onchain
it provides no actual benefit to the game itself
English

@arihantbansal @ansel_sol I’ve had a smart contract & game I built 4 years ago & had to mothball due to previous points raised
Deploying it on fogo is an infinitely better option given the constraints & it now plays like a web2 game instead of some glitchy web3 dapp
English

@ansel_sol @CloakdDev gaming on any chain is retarded and calling Fogo a better place than solana is hilarious too
English

@watchking69 @elonmusk You can already? i use the mini for my cannonball roadtrip runs to portugal and it works fantastically
English

I’d pay any amount of money for a portable small starlink I can carry with me internationally and always have WiFi
@elonmusk can you please make it happen?
English

@deanmlittle @Crypt0Panda Think we would have to hit low 30/40 before this happens again - building at 8-40 sol was one of the best times to be in the ecosystem
English

@Crypt0Panda dump it 10x to make solana an unattractive asset to be compensated in by grifters, get a bunch of real ones who are actually in it for the love of the game, then moon it 100x so they can all retire their bloodlines.
English

$875 > $8.75 > $87.5

Strong Foundation > No Foundation > Weak Foundation

I just use 1 token spanned across multiple CLIs + Remote agents on a few servers
Most are running in parallel and never had an issue, only hit the rate limit once and it was due to it spawning sub-agents
I had deepseek as a local model but tbh just use Claude for the most part now with Codex verifying its output & PRs
English

Sometimes I'm using sub-agents.
The issue is if you create more than one token, then it will expire the other token, and sometimes it will just ban your account even if you just paid for it.
That happened just a couple of days ago when I was making the third Claude Max plan.
What are you using as your backup AI model, and what are your favourite open source models?
English

@stevensarmi_ @tokens When you look at the disclosure docs for some of these "Stablecoins" youll realise they are not all as safe as made out to be
English

The best thing sbf/ftx did for us was create a canonical version of the US dollar in their app, and just basket all relevant stables under one umbrella.
it made ux so nice on the exchange.
@tokens will now return a single USD version with all variants under one umbrella, sick.

English

@tristan @barrett_io It enabled T22 and multiple other bedrock protocols to be built and adopted
Think a lot of the consumer grants just went to inexperienced teams, hence the issue with delivery schedules etc tbh
English

@barrett_io I've also yet to see a grant create a successful company (on the chain that gave the grant)
English

I struggle to think of a time that any favoritism mattered long term in a projects success.
The only thing that will make your company successful is yourself and your team.
cobra ⛰️@barrett_io
anza/solana favoritism with be the final nail in the coffin for perps trading in our ecosystem
English

@redacted_noah Think it’s just a lot more transparent to people, most that have come through Solana in the past 5 years have max extracted due to people thinking they had good intentions
What happened to “Don’t trust, Verify”
English

@GuiBibeau God speed - all of its a great learning experience either way
English

@therealchaseeb The messaging around what this will be has been all over the place for the past 2 days of discussion around "what" this project will be
75 devs built most of the ecosystem we use, now SF is saying they can do it better?
English

Solana Foundation still works with eco teams every single day. That has not changed.
This isn’t an either or situation.
A bit dramatic to say anything is being cannibalized when as it stands all that exists is a Twitter account and search bar for tokens.
But regardless, this is our stance, and the product itself and its distribution’s value will be captured by eco teams.
English

FDN will ship direct competitors against their own ecosystem leveraging their distribution
Rather than working with their ecosystem to highlight the apps via their distribution
chase@therealchaseeb
We will ship things instead of endless specs and debates. The Foundation will leverage its distribution to create, give, and accelerate economic opportunities for the Solana ecosystem. Change is always uncomfortable until the results come in.
English

@therealchaseeb Highlighted multiple in the threads yesterday
Ngl very weird stance for SF to take, preferred it when they sat back and supported the teams cooking rathar than cannibalising its own ecosystem to deploy half-done vibe coded apps
English
