Wonder if it’s dawned on Uefa how much the dire format change has weighted the Europa League and Conference League in favour of English clubs. Premier League clubs have budgets to blow counterparts out of the water and Villa are blowing Freiburg away.

@forestmad80 MGW not playing had a big impact - we’ve been there before -missing your talisman is key. I don’t think your tactics were good - Play for 0-0 from the start and unless you’ve got world class defenders that is only going to go 1 way. Forest are a good club though - all the best

That’s that then. First and foremost well done Villa, exceptional tonight and are streets ahead of where we are. (We’ve got a long way to get there)! It just feels like games and injuries have caught up with us, especially MGW who is our best player by a distance. I think the way we’ve rolled over is the disappointing thing and the lack of ambition. Fact is, with these players out there it was just a step too far and they do lack quality. We’ve lost every individual battle, we’ve not competed in the challenge and it kind of looks like the occasion has got the better of the players. A semi final of a European competition is an achievement to have achieved but I spoke about having no regrets. It feels very much like we have those regrets as we’ve simply not laid a glove on them. Go and win the thing now #AVFC
