These beagles spent their lives in a lab.
Now, their world has changed. They touched grass for the first time and have a lifetime of love and safety ahead of them.
In Congress, we've pushed for legislation to end cruel animal research and continued to be a voice in Washington for the voiceless.
This is a HUGE milestone for animal welfare. You're safe now. 🐾

BREAKING: The first 300 Ridglan beagles touched grass for the first time today. They stepped outside and looked up at the sun. Many are playful. Some are scared. All are learning the world can be safe. Today, they are free.

@RepNancyMace Also need to trash the save our bacon act. There’s no reason that pigs should be tortured in gestational crates.

The so-called MAHA doesn’t mean shit if you’re still torturing animals in experiments.
If you think it’s only vegan leftists that care about this, you are very wrong.
I will make it my mission to call out every single person on the left and the right that is allowing animal torture, lifetime confinement, and other abuse towards animals. Even worse are the ones who promised to end it and are lying.
Do not piss off animal people. Trust me.

Crazy we live in a society where it’s illegal to save the dogs but legal to torture them.

Homeless people are using dogs to test drugs for them on Skid Row in Los Angeles, California.
Non-profit group Starts With One Today says dogs are being abused, thrown away, sold for drugs, neglected, and fed drugs to make sure there is no fentanyl.
Animal advocates are ripping Mayor Karen Bass and other elected officials for not taking enough action.
“We’re coming out here, risking our lives to help these dogs with no support from the government,” said volunteer Joey Tuccio.

There is a priest in the city of Gravatá, Brazil, who takes stray dogs off the street, feeds them, bathes them, and houses them in his rectory. Every Sunday, he brings one to mass and places it by the altar so the congregation can meet it.
It started in 2013 when volunteers from a local animal shelter approached him selling cookies to raise funds. It gave him an idea. He began bringing strays into the church himself. Since then, over 200 dogs have found homes directly through his Sunday services.
Three of them nobody wanted. He kept those. “They stayed with me. Today, they are my children and sleep in my bed.”
When asked why he opens his church to strays, he said: “They will always be able to enter, sleep, eat, drink their water and find shelter and protection, for this house is of God and they are of God.”
His name is Father João Paulo Araujo Gomes.

Shakir not only paid to save the dogs' lives, but he also showed up and helped others with the adoption process.
This is beautiful.
