Be joyful. "Joy" is a pervasive sense of well-being, regardless of circumstances. They'll tell you you shouldn't be joyful. They'll tell you why you should be anxious and angry and give you a thousand reasons. They'll tell you that not being upset is morally wrong of you, or a function of privilege, or "toxic positivity" or... whatever they can throw at you to convince you to be as miserable as they are. Ignore them. You only get one shot at this. Give thanks in all things, and be joyful anyway.

I haven't mentioned this but... I wrote a book and it comes out TOMORROW. It's a concrete and beautiful vision for masculinity, based on my book The Men We Need, but angled for younger guys (middle school and up.) Shorter chapters, shorter book. I am AMPED about this. Even if I don't make a dime, I hope it sells a billion copies. If you know any guys graduating (from any level)--perfect excuse to gift this book. Small group discussion guide in the back. Please carpet-bomb every young guy in your church or school with this. It's true (and not hype) that guys who follow the wisdom in this will also be more attractive to women, but that's not the point. It's way bigger and better than that. This is about a masculinity ANY guy can grow into, and it'll be life-giving not just to him, but everyone around him.
