Are you an animator? I recommend checking out the 'Walks' workshop by the legendary James Baxter. youtube.com/watch?v=vihIPB…

In addition to @untitleddotnew, I wrote a comprehensive “how-to” guide that covers the art and act of naming. With this process, you can name anything in an afternoon. It is incredibly thorough but can be moved through efficiently. How to Name Anything in an Afternoon

@JPoliachik hah, ye - would need some really specialized setup for reading velocity xD probably the most feasible way is to create a few copies of the font and add some variance - randomly pick one of the fonts for each letter

@CmdrDats ooo yeah that would be cool! not possible to get velocity data from keyboard though :( cool idea with the text overlays. I also wish there was a good way to give the type some texture / partially fill in the letter. probably very tricky

@JPoliachik It would be even better if you could vary the opacity based on how hard you hit the keys - that'll give you proper typewriting feel! You can probably approximate based on typing speed though.

@JPoliachik I use this font: dafontfree.io/special-elite-… , but then I also create each letter multiple times with slightly varying positions and opacity - varying them a little - bit hefty, but hey.. computers are fast and the vibe is so worth it 🤣

@janetacarr I'm authoring/reviewing the docs/tasks/*.md files with the next steps I want it to do while it's busy jamming off to the side - helps me keep focussed on the bigger picture while its off writing some more boring code xD

This is the perfect example of why #clojure (script) is so awesome. Check this library: - 2 starts ⭐ - last commit 2 years ago 👴 A JS dev would run away instantly. But to a clj dev it looks perfect. - code looks good - you get the actual code not an obfuscated poc inside node_modules This lib is precisely what I need for browser audio processing. github.com/brianium/blah

I think #clojure got me. I officially can’t code in a large JavaScript project anymore. I’m sigh-ing every 2 minutes and can’t focus at all

Other devs look at me strange when I tell them I code JavaScript. If you stick to purely functional JS, const's & use a good functional library like Ramda (ramdajs.com), you'll be surprised that it's very similar to working in functional langs like Clojure
