Wow, I have just been basically defrauded by @MTNza from their official app. They allow you to buy packages that don't exist anymore. Then instead of giving you a proper card refund they just give you airtime. 🤬

Just finished @CrystalDynamics's Tomb Raider (2013) and I think that and Rise of the Tomb Raider are two of my favourite games of all time. Truly amazing adventure and exploration games, with a pretty good story narrative. ❤️❤️❤️

They say it will take 5 days, but I've been waiting for 3 weeks now, wasting time every week communicating call centre agents trying to find out when it will be delivered. Absolutely horrible service. Never use Capitec's licence renewal service

@tekbog 1 of the answers is always, "write better prompts". But if it takes the same amount of time to generate the correct code through prompting than it takes to write it yourself, then what's the point? So if I see the AI stays stupid after some prompts, I just do it myself

i keep hearing how good LLMs are and how much people generate code with them yet every single time i try to do something relevant it's absolute garbage, are you people just writing simple CRUD apps all day? wtf

Jeez, the results of LLMs can vary wildly. Sometimes it's just absolutely brilliant (it's the same for ChatGPT, Llama, Claude etc), and other times it's ridiculously stupid even, on trivial things.

Other devs look at me strange when I tell them I code JavaScript. If you stick to purely functional JS, const's & use a good functional library like Ramda (ramdajs.com), you'll be surprised that it's very similar to working in functional langs like Clojure

@Richards_Karin I can't speak for the indexing of the Dow, but as a software developer I can tell you that Intel faces some very serious problems. Now that ARM processors are becoming more common on PCs, there's a chance that they will eventually lose most of their market share.

Nvidia $NVDA will replace Intel $INTC in the Dow. The committee making these decisions has a poor track record. Example: In Aug’20 Exxon $XOM was kicked out and replaced by Salesforce $CRM. Since then, Exxon is +182% whilst Salesforce is only +9%.

@pietviljoen Been wondering about this too. It's okay for the state to have gigantic monopolies, but not the private sector. Shouldn't the Competition Commission also advocate for privatizing many of these state entities and encouring competition? I think the state is contradicting itself

@jacquesdp Indeed, I'm referring more to libraries with which you describe & render UI. Re-frame is more of a state management & application logic library. It defaults to using reagent underneath but you can use it with UIx & helix too

Oh wow. Can't believe I missed this all these years: @Steam Big Picture Mode + my PS4 controller + my @Lenovo LOQ gaming laptop. It's a whole new gaming experience. I'm not sure I'll ever need to go back to playing console games
